I don't like the idea of having a suction cup mounted radar detector, but I would be interested in doing a fancy indash setup.
What are my options if I want to do this? Basically I need a radar detector with remote sensors for the front/back of the car and a seperate face. What brands/models of radar detector offers this?

The Escort radar detector company offers two products with both radar and laser detectors and one with laser only, for remote applications. Their web site is: www.escortradar.com

V40 makes a liscense plate radar detecot with a lil display u mont on the dash. Valentine makes a radar detector that uses your rear view mirror as a display with arrows and everything, kinda pricey.... thats all i can think of.

Thanks for the replies :)
While I was checking out some of the suggestions that you guys posted I came across the Beltronics BEL-975R.
Have any of you heard anything about this or have any feelings about Beltronic detectors in general. I searched for a product reveiw on it, but I couldn't find anything.
It lists at around $650ish compaired to the others, which all list around $1000. One thing I like about it is that it can be upgraded, which is definately a plus when the detector is a permant part of your car.
What do you guys think?

k40 gets horrendous reviews from pretty much anyone that reviews them... theres the vector LR which is the older version of the 975 i believe... BEL has excellent radar detectors... if you were electronics handy you can also extend the wires off of a valentine one using the remote display.. it wouldnt be too difficult. basically send the sensors somewhere else.
I say if you really wanted to go this route, and its an expensive one, then go for the 975... the K40 is really ancient in design, my friends dad had one in his car and it wasnt impressive at all... he ended up turning it off and getting a regular radar detector. I have the BEL 980, its a great unit... i bought both the bel and the valentine and ran them in the same setting to and from school separately for a week each, then sent the valentine back.. i liked the bel much more than the v1.. I was lots more receptive to it for some reason.. although both were pretty much identical..
I also found the bogey counter to be pretty much a marketing ploy... considering even rear signals arent shifted enough on the doppler scale to easily allow for detection and my guess is that unless they're using a completely separate sensor they're just using wave amplitude to see where its coming from.
