So I've had a 2000 GT for about 5 months now and I am thinking of selling it privately and trading it in for a GTS.. I'd probably lose 2,000 or so.. But I'd gain 30 HP. More than an exhaust, intake, headers, and PFC could get me. Do you guys think it is worth it? Or should I just save money for a turbo?
you'd gain 40 hp
and you'd get the 6 speed which is very nice.
I would probably do that or get an RXS-S which has far more aftermarket, depends - handling vs. straightline speed?
you're in buffalo so I can't in good conscience recommend a RWD car.

I should mention that I have about 9,000$ payments left on the GT. I just wonder if its worth it spending thousands on a GT, and it still being slower than a stock GTS.

Hey man check out my sig.
I did the same thing. I sold my GT to another person, and I bought my GTS from a dealer.
I went from a GT with 76k miles, to a GTS with only 28k miles! And my payments only went up $25/month. I lucked out big time. It's all about finding the right deals and also getting someone to buy your car.
I sold my GT for $9900 with 76k miles. Not bad.
Oh and yes, it is damn well worth it. The GTS is better in every single way.

i'm thinking about doing the same thing. the only thing that bugs me is that i loose out on a lot of money with my mods..so im planning on keeping them and selling the car with a stock setup. i have an apexi N1 exhaust for my GT right im pretty sure that the fitment for the GT-S is the same...anyone know for sure?

Then there's the "finding a GTS in Buffalo" problem. I've only seen 3 so far in the past month, 1 was in a major wreck, and the other 2 were WAY overpriced. Bunch of GT's sitting around, though.
Also, if you've got $9k left in payments, you're probably what's known as "upside down" on your car (that is, you owe more on the car than it's actually worth). This is a VERY bad time to sell, and most financial people will strongly recommend you to keep your car untill you'd at least be able to get as much for selling the car as you have left in payments.
When I lived in Rochester I had to go all the way to Southern New Jersey to find a GT-S priced decently

An '02 GT is worth more than $9k. Hell an '00 GT can still go for that much.
Guess it depends on what you want out of the car.
Since I bought my GT as an economical, fun to drive, commuter I'd never trade mine in on a GTS. Value that 40mpg on 87 octane too much.
