well i don tknow about some of you, but i think having a front license plate with those brackets on the celica makes the car less appealing.. it kinda doesnt go a long with the car.. just sticking out there right on the nose..

well i know some of you guys dont wanna deal with the law by getting pulled over for not having them.. but here is a solution so u dont have to have ur front plate right on the nose of the bumper.. but yet not get in trouble for not having them on..

and no this is not where u just put the licnese plate on ur dash.. some of u guys mite have figured this out already but for those who didnt and want an alternative solution.. this is hwat i did when i had my gts..

as you can see it keeps the front bumper clean.. and at eye level u wont notice its there.. much cleaner look..

as far as the law.. trust me i use to go to the street races out here in milpitas a lot like this.. and ive been pulled several times.. each time they look at the front to see if my plates are there cause from far awy you cant see it.. but after the cops duck down and see it.. its no problem.. they dont give me a fix it ticket or anything for it..

well its pretty easy to do.. hella ghetto but it works.. we just drilled 2 small holes down there.. (no not in the radiator).. then just use a screw or u can use zip ties.. then ur outcome wil be a cleaner better look on ur celica..

i mean come on.. compare these pics.. look how much better the celica is without front license plate..

without

make ur car even look more faster.. :D

wat are ur opinions? with plates or without?

oh yea.. i dont know how much performance wise it will make ur car slower as it will block part of the radiator.. hah but thats why i bent mine in..

funny that, i was thinknig about making one of those "JDM" things that they make in japan myself.

its basically a swinging bracket....when your car starts moving the license plate swings up and out of the way so you cant see it, when you stop, it plops back down.

but basically you just get a little latcha nd when you wanan take photos of your car, you keep it tucked back behind the bumper.

its actually pretty cool and a lot of car enthusiasts in japan have been doing it.

and no this is not where u just put the licnese plate on ur dash.

Thats illegal also. I got a ticket for having it on my dash. I told the cop "look its on my dash, easily visible..." but he was like "sorry, it must be attached to the front of the car. I told him that I'd be willing to put it on right now (i had the bolts and everything in the car)...but he still gave me the ticket.

Thanks for the tip. I drive in MN without it and it's illegal. oh well though.
Millin.. you have any more information on that stuff ? where could we purchase it from?

Looks nice...

it will block airflow to the radiator though. I'd be worried about places w/ high temps.

Thankfully there are no front plate laws in my state :)

yea.. iim sure a lot of folks can get away driving without front plates.. i guess it depends on your area and how bad the cops are.. over here in the bay.. where street racing is a real big thing.. on the weekends once it gets dark.. the cops become totally different.. they pull you over for any little thing.. so thats why its a risk just taking the plates off.. so i had to do an alternative..

its easy.. u can do all of it urself.. just look down there and find a place .. u can even bend the plate a lil so it wont block a lot of airflow to radiator..

jotan.. that is nice.. i guess its because those jdm plates is something different.. and it has more clean look compared to US plates..

couldn't you use the front plate to protect your ac condensor? Put your plate in the gap like EuGeNiLe GTS has, but position it infront of the condensor so the condensor can't be hit by rocks and debris. It might look a little funny if it was offset to the side like that, but it would be useful.

This is all fine and good, I mean I think it looks far better w/o the front plate...but... What about those of us who got a car with the bracket already on and we aren't gettin a bodykit? lol When you take that bracket off there are some monsterous, ugly lookin holes underneath! lol... That was my problem and to make matters worse, I live in MI where u don't need the front plate! Why couldn't Toyota do like Honda and thread those holes so they are clean and you can cap them!? lol

Ive been driving without a plate forever and Ive gotten a ticket for it. I dont care though it just looks 100X better without it on the front.

Don't worry about it blocking airflow to the radiator. That thing down there that the plate is in front of isn't the radiator, it's the air conditioning condenser.

I just got another ticket for no front license plate last night! Second ticket for that in less than 3 weeks.
