A while back i was on a import car website and it had a thing on the side where if you type in your vip code and state it would show you where the street racers in your local area meet up then go off to race. I was wondering if any of you knew of this site. Ive actually never been to the street races where theres lots of cars, but ive seen a few here and there every once in a while in the city. I dont plan on racing, i just think it would be awsome to go see them. Hope someone knows of the site. Thanks

agreed. street racing is stupid.
although i dont see how anyone could really get hurt or whatever if they do it in an abandoned area.
stoplight racing is downright vehicular manslaughter waiting to happen. rofl. manslaughter is mans laughter. jsut realized that.

The abandoned area still has a shoulder racers could go off of... Flip the car, crash into a tree, etc.
Street racing is stupid, you have a car to get to work or pleasure places.
OOh I'm gonna go race stupid here........ A street race is going to get you WHERE in life... down NASCAR lane?? If not, focus on something more important.
street racing is sooooooooo out of style

Streetracing.com use to have a thing where you pick your state and people would list where cars would meet and such. Not sure about racing, but I havnt been to that site in years, and cant tell you if they still do it.

There is a law in California stating it is a crime to spectate "speed contests", it promotes these street racing. When San Diego was cracking down on street racing under cover cops just bring a digital camera take license plates of vehicles spectating these "speed contest", they just mail you a ticket in the mail. It is not just the street racers gets busted now, it is these spectators too.

Damn near 90% of all threads in Racing Thread involve illegal street racing....yet everyone here is bashing it calling them idiots, explain?... If every1's against, then why is everyone posting about when they raced on the freeway or streets on the way home etc.

street racing isnt all that bad if you check the area for any danger, its an empty street, and there are no cops around, and the speeds dont get too outta control but i agree that real racing should take place at the track

Lets consider the consiquences of street racing. You gotta be able to accept these because it WILL happen eventually.
1. Charged with vehicular manslaughter
2. Liscense suspended
3. Fined over 2K
4. Vehicle impounded for more than 30 days
5. Vehicle crushed
6. You go to jail do not pass go do not collect $200
7. You get a felony charge on your record that must be listed on every JOB application you fill out.
8. A large inmate becomes best friends with your corn hole.
Is all that really worth the 10 seconds or so of adrenaline rush?
It costs 20 bucks most tracks to race & you get to see much faster cars, race in a safe enviornment, and legally.
I've done some stupid stuff in the past but thankfully I learned from it and was lucky enough not to get arrested or ticketed for it. Now, I spend all my time at the dragstrip.

I've been to alot of dragstrip races and they are fun, but I would rather see street cars face off. Does anyone know of anywhere around Charlotte/Gastonia NC where they race street cars??? Legally I mean ;) I live surrounded by Nascar, and I'm sure there is something around here but I don't know where. As far as the illegal racing please don't do it, I meet a guy last night while at work whose son just died 3and1/2 months ago in his svt neon while racing. His back tire got caught on a curb and he died in 2sec(they said) after he hit the ground. He was only 22 :( I was just giving the guy a hearing test and he started crying in front of me, very sad and very awkward. So please be careful out there and watch racing at a track.
And Illusive you forgot #9. You can DIE!
