Hey guys, I finally got my mounting hardware for my hood. My question is do you ise the rubber hood bumpers on this? I have to order some if so... If I mounted it w/out the bumpers, is there a chance it could warp? Any feedback is appreciated - ESPECIALLY pics of the inside of the hood after you've mounted it

Your stock hood does not have the rubber stoppers? That's what I used on my C-One hood. I believe all they do is eliminate hood vibrations, and guarantee a snug, secure fit when the hood is totally closed. I don't think the hood would warp without them, but the front of the hood may sit lower than the bumper without them.

yeah my OEM hood is MIA. I had the VIS CF one and never put the bumpers on. Now toyota says I gotta special order them and pay first. I'm trying to call the other toyo dealership but their phones are not working right now

Ugh, that sucks dude. Good luck with the search. Those are not the kind of pieces I see up for sale in the forum either. How much does Toyota want for them?

like about 10 bucks for all four

Not bad, surprisingly. But wait, my hood only had two stoppers.

Bahm, I have an extra hood and I can sell you the 2 stopper off of it (my hood only has two stopper as well, Joe).

But if it's only $10, you're better off just getting them from the Toyota dealership. Shipping alone would prob be $5.

ya i noticed only two on the v2 hood. toyo said there were 4, but the fron 2 would only be like 3 a piece... so I'll deal. I just dont wanna risk it getting warped w/out them...

Just checked out a parts catalog--there are 4. 2 side & 2 front. Obviously you want the front ones.

It's part# 90541-11009, just for reference (the side ones are part# 90541-15014). It's liested at $1.95 here, but this is back in 2000 (since I own an '00 I collect all the '00 stuff I can find).

could it warp the hood without them? I know they just act as a buffer so the front doesn't go down too far

It'll be fine without them I'm almost 100% sure. A bunch of buddies and myself had a mini-GB with carbon fiber hoods awhile back and we finally got them in about 3 weeks ago. We put them all on (except for mine and another guy) without the stoppers and everythings pretty good.

And those were with ViS hoods, I would definately have to assume that C-One quality is at least twice that as far as durability is concerned.

There's two for the sides as well? I'm going to have to check out my OEM hood again. I don't recall seeing them when I took the hood off.

well I mounted it. It is ok but the fitments a little off. I think I'll need to tweak with it a little bit for perfection. hopefully the wreck my ex got in didn't alter the front too bad

Pics? My fitment is a little off too, but it's because the hood warped a bit during shipping.

ugh I feel really awkward getting pics right now b/c of how ghetto the car looks otherwise, but hold on a few and I'll snap a couple and add 'em
