Hey guys im new here and i just baught a 2000 gts i was listening to it idle the other day and i heard a ticking sound would this be the valves? or something else if this is the valves how would i get this fixed?

It's the valves. Only way to fix/reduce it is to reshim all the valves. Around 700 bucks at the dealer. Most if not all gt-s have valve tap at idle.

Yep sure is right. You didn't get it checked before you bought it?

valve chatter.....its a very common thing amongst celicas.....try using mobil 1 syn oil and buy a bottle of lucas fuel injector fuel treatment....its like a gel form, this is what i have been doing since i've had my celica and it seems to quiet down the engine quite a bit...good luck! :evil:
