do carbon fiber hoods need to be clearcoated?

i just got my hood a few weeks ago and was wondering if they had to be clearcoated before you put them on.

no, but you can make it extra shiny if you put an extra clear coat

the coat of clear will also add some durability to it. Not a bad idea if you got the money to burn.
