00 GT-S Celicas faster than...?!?

Would it be a safe bet to say that the 00 GTS is faster than any newer Celica (02+) because of the Rev limiter and all that other good stuff.

Also - in its price range, would it also be safe to say the Celica is probably the fastest car out of what there is out there?

Could i get a list of what is faster and slower? Not of EVERY car, but like the main ones. Like how a Civic would be slower and stuff. (Not counting turbo'd cars and stuff like that, just all stock).

the 02+ rev limiter can be easily changed and then would be the same speed. Price range wise its not the fastest. S2000, Type-S , a few others i believe

1)I would say 00 GT-S would outrun other years of Celicas, with equal drivers. I have a 00 Celica (Feb. 2000 manufacture date) and I haven't raced many Celicas out there, but I haven't lost to another one yet. I beat one that had TRD Exhaust and AEM CAI whenI just had AEM CAI and pulley.
2)No. It may be up there in terms of stock for stock and prices you can get them at now. But many cars in our class have much better aftermarket support

Type S is pretty much dead even, for the most part. def. a driver's race stock for stock. S2000 is much more expensive.

Oh i can drive alright :). Im not saying im the best, but im not saying idk what im doing either.

I am just having a "friendly agrument" with a friend. He thinks Celica's suck.

S2000s are WAY WAY WAY more expensive, and the Type-S is about evven like the other guy said. I have beaten 2 Type-S and lost to 1. I have no idea what mods were done to them.

So could i get a list going:

Civics
Tiburons
Eclipse's
Mustangs
Kia Sportages (lol, long story - kid wanted to race for slips in that thing, then backed out after i smoked him starting in 2nd gear for laughs)
Cavs (my friend was impressed because he added a chip and can now "burn out" when taking off)

Thats what they are faster than. What about Slower than.

I am going to say the price ranger is about what...16,000-22,000? Im not sure, i dont look anymore since i got one :).

Im pretty confident with my driving skills, but could you give me some pointers. Like what would i be surprised to beat, because there is this 350z that likes to mess with me on my way to college every tues. and thurs. Haha, doubt my Intake and shortshifter are gonna make me be able to beat that, but who knows? Is it doable.

What would i be surpised that i could beat for real though?

eclipse= drivers race. gs-t ave 15.2s-15.4s 1/4mile from what i have seen
mustangs= learn to drive and hope he/she sucks and you might have a chance
kia sportage= dude, if you lose to a kia, sale your car
cavs= see above about the kia

I am yet to lose to an eclipse that wasnt turbo'd.

^^ good deal. i see you live in ky. have you been to a track yet? im hoping that once i get my car back, i can make it up there before they close and run once more. when i said learn how to drive, the track will be your test. you have intake and a ss. if you break into the 14s with those mods, your an ok driver. if you break into the 14s stock, your a good driver. with my intake on, i hit 14.5s and 14.6s = good driver. took alot of practice, because when i forst got my car, i couldnt launch to save my life. after going threw a set of tires, i finally mastered it!!! with my exhaust unbolted and the weight reduction i have, i was hoping for some lower times.

theres a difference between the cold air intake and the short ram intake. do a search and you find that out. theres atleast 5000 topics on that. when i went to the track, i tried using the water box, but i screwed it up and ran my worst all night. i run with out using the water box. its all about the clutch gas technics(sp?).

i didnt think thy type s would run with a gt-s i have raced like 20 of them cuz every1 here has one of those an old hatch civic or a v-6 mustang. anyways none of them can drive apparently cuz i leave them standing

That goes for the all of the other turbo years too.
And it doesnt have to have the "big" wing to be gsx/gst.
I wonder what the elica could do against a stock GSt.
Eclipse no longer has the AWD advantage.
