hey what sup, well saturday nite, i was cruising with 2 of my friends in my car. at the red light, on my left was a mr2 supercharged and on the right is the civic si. well i try to break tq so my car could go faster, but when the light turn green. the other 2 cars spin the tires and then toke off , my spin a little bit but idle, but they beat my by 5 or 6 cars lenght.
the second race was me and the mr2 alone. we were at 30 mph. he wanna race, so i slam the gas and took off. but he was half car lenght on me. i guess i will never race at the red light again. what do you guys think? i have injen cai. that is all.

Race your auto back to the dealer and trade it in for a 6-spd, then look for that S/C'd MR2 and it will be a different outcome:)

hope that supercharged mr2 wasn't modified... i dont think even a 6spd could keep up with it if it was modified.

Yeah, one of the most underestimated cars is the SC'd MR2. A stock SC MR2 would only get beat by a little if any, it'd be really close. Add a pulley and/or exhaust and it's gone.

Hey Slade, guess what?....I may be joining you in the 3SGTE camp. ;) But it won't be till summer time :(

When you guys talking about S/C'ed MR-2, are you talking about the old one or the new one? If it was the new one, does the S/C aftermarket parts or factory option? I don't know much about that car beside that i think it's CUTE...buahahha.

Well, my other toy, which is actually my brothers car is a 1985 Mr2 with toyota levin engine in it. the 4-age 20 valve. and that thing will kick the crap outa a gt-s. it has no Ac or power steering, a makeshift intake, and exhaust. (oh an NOS)

next month though its getting a jap spec MR2 supercharged engine, tranny, and ECU. my brother tells me that the S/C only produces 6psi stock. He's getting a pulley and he said it doubles the PSI, and pumps 12 PSI safely. according to the shop hes been talking to that imports the engines, and sells the after market parts for that specific engine, the jap spec S/C engine with the pulley (and other minor mods) produces 220-240 hp(without AC, or power steering). which far surpases the current levin engine. not to mention we already have a ZEX Kit in the car. LoL

I dont know the Hp on the S/C MR2's stock, i gonna ask my bro later today when i go home. but If those numbers are correct, that little 2000 lbs. car is gonna a mean mofo. its already a fast bastard with the current engine, i cant wait to drive it after the swap. .

Well, i was mis informed on something the S/C engine pumps out 8 psi stock, and 12 with the pulley. the US version had 140hp. the jap-spec has 165 with AC and Power steering. the 225-230 hp(to the crank) number is with no AC, no power steering, the pulley, header and exhaust. but the point is those old school MR2's have lots potential
