I agree with Evil Eye. I'll plan to purchase these and probably powdercoat them black. Even though it might ruin the wh ole " celica " etched in it. So we'll see how that turns out.

i think becasue they are brushed aluminum and not jsut grey they will look good with either. hell as long as they glow blue i'm happy :) but if a black brushed could be done that woudl be awsome as well

issue with this will be that there is 0 space under that. if you were to cut out a section of your stock palstic sill maybe you could have the room needed to put in a super mini thin neon but not likely. its worth a shot but to all of those who keep asking aobut red or different color, there is more demand for blue as found by simons previous research before making this. if you want to buy it and try to modify go ahead but it will nto be changed by simon before selling. Also there will be an install write up prior to sales and i belive sent off with the item if not then posted on here for all your isntall questions. These are not done yet and therefore you cannot pick them up right now or buy right now :) i caint wait to get mine but we all have to jsut wait for them to come out ;)

I know a lot of the Lexus' have this too. If memory serves they were the same shade of blue, maybe a little darker. Don't get me wrong these are pretty damn cool but is there a reason they are such a light shade of blue?

I believe that's the color of EL indiglo. Just like all those indiglo gauges that light up the same shade of blue.

INSTALL GUIDEl--
step 1 or the last step depending on when you prefer to remove the protection plastic--
the sills come wrapped very good from shipping--there is a blue protection sticky plastic cover that is attached to the sills--slowly peel this off--there might be some of the glue left on the sill--

i used a soft wax applicator and some glue remover to take it off--nail polish remover would also work--(pour the remover on the cloth not the sill)-

-slowly and lightly rub the glue off so u dont scratch the sill--after its installed rub a little chrome cleaner on the sill--to buff it shiney

step 2--removing the oem door sill---with both hands and alittle pressure pull the door sill up and from side to side until you pop it lose from the car--dont yank and rip it out --it need to go back into the car---i bought some simply green grease remover and dish detergent and wash the sills off under hot water--make sure they are clean and not greasey to the touch

step 3--the aftermarket door sills lettering will line up with the factory door sill letter--dont put them on backwards-

-peel off the red 3m backing ((((not the white 3m backing that holds on the el glow unit)))))) and line the door sill up to the factory door sill.

there is a mall wire at the end of the door make sure that you leave it out sticking from under the door sill and press down on it firmly--it will stick good if you cleaned the oem door sill.

step 4--wiring--the door sill comes with the wires to connect this to the car--first i removed the panel that is next to the back seat pull it out so the you can reach the dome light trigger on/off switch--you will see one wire going to this-connect the doorsills black wire to this wire-it is a ground so when you open the door the door sill will turn on and when you shut it--yes! it will turn off--mount the small black box in a open space using 3m double sided tape

step 5---i purchased a fuse tap from pepboys and connected to the fuse box i would pick a spot that has electrical current when the car is off--like the dome light fuse---run the two red wires to that from either up the center console or under the dash---and that is it
ill post pics of the rest of the set up tommorow or tonight--i dont think you need them to install the sill

i havent had time yet i am gonna install thursday afternoon.

ok so i went outside to get the car and isntall, and now its pooring. if it clears up i'll get it done today if not then hopefully tomarrow afternoon :(

Now got a quesiton for all of your wire people. I want mien to work with the dome light, meaning i can turn it on and off as well. My concern is at certain shows the doors are awlays left open and i dont want these to drain the car being on liek 12 hours w/o the car being started. if no easy way i may jsut wire up a switch and leave it always on for the power wire, use simon's door ground so that it turns on. btu then i can cut the power at any time. let me know what you all think

run it to a rocker on/off switch 1st so that you can cut the power to it when u want to--ill rewire mine that way saturday and take some pics--i forgot about the show thing--

the only way i can see a neon fitting is if u cut a hole in the stock sill then maybe. personally i didnt think i was gonna liek the elglow touquiose color but i was stunned. it looks crisp and badass like that. even thow my entire car is blue inside i am very happy with the elglow color :)
