Does anybody have any experience or information on mounting the original Carcept roof spoiler (I am finally getting around to mounting mine). I was one of the original 20 people to get it and I know it is completely different than the GenII one. I need to explain to the body shop how I want it done and I have NO IDEA. It came with screws, but who knows where/how they go. What can I do??
Thanks
Chris

y0... just take it to the body shop and point where it needs to be placed. Any compitent body shop should be able to attach it and make sure it will hold and not leak. I paid 100 bucks to have mine mounted and installed.

Good Luck.

well if u have the original one...one of the 20 that came from carcept, or for that matter a copy is the same....

just put some double sided tape on the edges...of it, measure it on the car....(check for clerance, when opening the hatch door.etc)

and then thelostrican [2:03 AM]: after u make sure u like where it is...just open the hacthc while somebody helps holding the roofspoiler(eventhough is being holded by the tape)
thelostrican [2:03 AM]: u get inside the trunk
thelostrican [2:03 AM]: with the hatch door open
thelostrican [2:03 AM]: and take out one rubber grumett
thelostrican [2:04 AM]: that is located on each side
thelostrican [2:04 AM]: and u drill the roof spoiler
thelostrican [2:04 AM]: from the inside out
thelostrican [2:04 AM]: 2 screws on each side
thelostrican [2:04 AM]: thats it
thelostrican [2:04 AM]: it took me 15 minutes
thelostrican [2:04 AM]: in total
thelostrican [2:04 AM]: its easy

well u get the idea, this was a conversation between me an celiracer....

I think I understand.
Rubber grommet? Is this in the hatch? There were NO additional pieces other than the screws that came with the spoiler. No grommets.

Thanks

Nah, there are some rubber grommets that are in the hatch that hold give you access the to the tube... look up near the top of the hatch and you should see what he's talking about.

haha... ok... just go look at the top of the hatch near the hinge of the hatch (on the underside), you will see the rubber gromments we are talking about. The tube I was referring to, was the frame for the hatch it's hollow. Never the less... look how the spoilers are on mounted on existing cars and you should be able to figure it out. Again any shop who has been open for more than a week should be able to figure it out and mount it.

OK,
There are a few good ones around me. Hopefully they don't charge me an arm and a leg. I'm having everything done at once. Kam front, ww sides and roof spoiler painted/mounted.
