Some people say bandpass is good for a hatchback while other say sealed is better. I want to know what you think. If you have a pic of your setup post it.

Overall sound quality.

thanks

it depends on what you want out of your setup. I cant tell you which is better for you until you tell me that.

For SQ, sealed is better hands down.

For pics of setups check the thread at the top of this forum.

ill toss my vote in for sealed. Bandpass boxes to me are lacking as far as detail and depth if that makes sense.. some freqs boom depending on how the box is tuned.. others sound like dookie. So no bandpass for me :D

Bandpass boxes can do a LOT with a little power.. but they're limited in their frequency abilities. In other words, they aren't really dynamic.

If you REALLY want to shake your celica apart then get yourself a BIG ASS ported box.. :)

But if you are really into SQ, get sealed.. your choice of subs and size of the box (among other things) will determine whether or not its loud enough for you.. but with the right choices it can be fkn LOUD :D

If you want your sub to play more frequecies then go sealed, but make sure your volume is correct for your sub.

If you want it to be much louder, if you have a low wattage sub or amp, then go ported, just like a sealed box but with a 3" tube in it, but this is usually better for lower frequecies.

If you want crap, and buy a NAME, and a heavyer box, then go bandpass.

Personally I like ported cus its louder and lower.

The advantages of each determine what I would buy. On a limited budget, get a ported box as it is better at delivering varied frequencies than a bandpass. The best is however a sealed box, for any car, The downfall is that it requires mass amounts of power to reach high dB levels. it really depends what you want.

My vote a sealed enclosure running a high wattage amp. and quality subs of course.
