^^ Eric (Tater) did. They looked pretty much exactly like that and the quality had to be at least somewhat close to it. We almost bought his car when he was selling it..he lives the next neighborhood over and speaking from personal experience it was first class stuff.
I could have had just the inserts (what you see on the TRD Sports-M) for $375. Now I'm kicking myself. Didn't realize so many people would pay that much $$ for them. He wound up selling the molds, I'm not sure to who though.

I actually have one of his molds that were produced. when it gets to my house i will take some pics of it. I really wish i could put them into production but from what i heard Tater got really made if people duplicated his products.

I don't think Tater cares anymore because #1, he sold the molds, so what did he expect? and #2, he doesn't come to this site anymore.
Tater cared when Jtultra made the JDM console navi fillers, but that's only because he was still around selling stuff.

Well then since he doesnt come around F it. Maybe i could go in with like top shop for a CF mold or something. I know if i post this in the JDM forum i will at least get a better respone from it. Anybody be interested in a set of them?

He sold his car and now drives an s2000 I beleive. The last time I saw his car, it was sitting in a Honda dealerships parking lot waiting to be sold. He parted most of it out except for the veilside bodykit, though. The rest of the parts sold pretty fast, most of them on here. He told me he was "getting out of the modification scene because he was expending way too much time & energy on it." Which would be true.

well i mean thats what happens when your making molds and everything. But he was still making some money from it as well which helps. Maybe i could be the next molder or something lol

Actually, you may get a better amount of interest posting a new thread in the appearance forum. Only because what you would be making is not truly JDM, only the style is. That and the appearance forum sees more traffic.

Why in the world would these headlights sell for $4500.00 new?
It probably cost TRD $50.00 to make them. I would consider
selling my car and upgrading before I made the commitment of
buying headlights for that kind of money.

^^ The materials probably cost $50. You know how OEM's are though, they don't use temporary molds. They probably had to buy a $100,000 machine to push them out and since they only made a limited number of those cars it pushes the price up. I'm sure Toyota is making a handsome profit off of them (actually, I'm positive they are), but at the same time I'm sure they were expensive to make.

At the end of the day products are only worth what customers are willing to pay else they will not sell. Regardless how rare or expensive they were at first manufacture.

You are exactly right with that. But oh well....the person that buys them for like 4k is a moron. Plus they are used so it should sell for less.

Since both are projectors you can either swap the projectors out to real hid projectors or you can just add two hid kits.

very nice indeed.... i bet you would be killin oncoming traffic with two sets of HID's.... :chuckles: :chuckles:

If in true hid projectors and aimed correctly, it shouldn't a problem. It'd look weird though seeing four projectors coming at you, plus a set of fogs (illegal to have more than two sets of lights on at a time).
Tater do you still have the mold for the the raised M-style scoop?
Id be down to buy this!
