Coolant question?

I have searched for coolant treads and they have helped but I just want these specific quetsions answered:
1) Can I refil my coolant by just popping the cap off and pouring some in?
2) It says see a toyota dealer to do it, sounds like crap to me, is it going to hurt the car by me doing it?
3) Never seen red coolant before, is it essential and where do I get it?

you don't have to get it at the dealership. you can buy the same kind of stuff at a local pep boys, discout auto, same red stuff. I use what's called havoline extended life dex-cool. It has the same main ingredient(forgot the name) as in the toyota one.

make sure that you get the correct type of coolant. The manual state that several times. And you can jsut pour some into the tank. It is very simple.
