a/c condenser problems?

well i took my car in to have the a/c looked at today... apparently some stones flew into it and broke the thing and they're saying it's not going to be covered under warranty. i find that kind of silly, because how can i prevent stones from going in there? not to mention the 2002 celicas all come with a grill in front to protect it... what would you guys recommend? is there any way i can get this thing fixed under warranty? i can't afford the $850+ they say it's going to cost me.

Call your insurance company.

Warranty doesn't cover road hazards. Should your warranty cover a nail in your tire, how about a head on collision?

head on collisions and nails in a tire aren't quite the same. seems to me it's a serious design flaw (which toyota obviously knows about since they did something to correct it...) i don't think i'm being unreasonable.
