Where to party in Long Island?

Ok I have a friend comming in from Miami that will be staying in LI for a wedding. She wants to hang out in Manhattan and to the tourist thing all day. I got that covered. But she wants to go out Friday night the 9th and since LI is far from NYC (and me being from NJ) We figured we would party and hang out at night in LI if we could find a spot. Then there would be less driving involved.

So basically I need to know what kinda clubs bars or lounges there are, if any, in LI to hang out and have some drinks and chill. Remember shes from Miami so the place has gotta be hot. Shes into Hip Hop, House, Spanish and pretty open to all music except trans (glow stick sutff) type of music.

Any suggestions of places in LI, or should I just keep her in Manhattan?

Hey Mike whats up....I think a Club and Lounge dinner type of place...without the dinner. She only here for the weekend so I rather pass on a bar.

Some good mix of music would be good, nice looking girls (shes just my friend so im open to picking up too)

Incidently LI is about 1.5 to 2 hours from Manhattan right? IVe been out there for Jillian meets and we hit traffic comming back so I forget.

MiaCeli... Mirage in Westbury is a good option, the music is good... another place is Ice in Rt 110 or crazy donkey...

IMO mirage gets a 4/10. its nothing special but ive hear acouple good things about creazy donkey.

has any1 been to that new spot by rooservelt feild mall?? i saw it for the first time this past tuesday (my b'day :gap:) and i sware that thing looks like something straight from los vages :thumbup: ...its called grand lux cafe/lounge

IMO you should take her to Copa Cabana aka "Copa" in the city. that place is insane. they play salsa/merenge/hip hop/regeaton/and some house. very good music and it has some of the most beatiful people you will see for sure. it DEFINITLY 1 of the best places i've been to as far as music, people and the whole atmosphere in general. the drinks are not outrageously priced too

ur creazy man. who ever told u that it takes 2hrs to get to LI from the city is insane. it takes me 20-30max to get to the city. it will take u 2hr to get to the very eastern tip of long island (bumble **** land)

but depending on where ur friend is staying in LI, i should take u 30-60min max to get to the city. unless she is staying way into LI

I used to date a girl from Deer Park LI and it used to take her forever to come down to NJ...maybe she was an idiot and took the long wasy. If it only takes that short of a time to get into the city then I may go back and forth. As soon as I get an address to where shes staying Ill check with you on how far it is.

Copa is ok...I know a bunch of the Copa girls so they can hook me up. My brother was a copa dancer there a while back...but thanks for the long Island party tips. Grand Lux sounds like my scene. Ill look into that.

I saw that cafe place by the mall recently too. Definately wanna see what thats all about. LI is a much better place to party in the summer but for the Winter most of the popular options include Posh, Ice, Mirage, and then the bar scene. Crazy Donkey is much better in the summer as it has a pretty big outdoor hangout but it probably still gets decent. Basically winter time is all about Manhattan!

Yeah they have partners that they dance salsa with depending on the show. My brother is into shows and competions. Well he was till he had twins recently and doesnt have time anymore...He can dance his azz of when it comes to spanish music.

Gentlemen, Salsa dancing is a sure way to pick up the latin girls.
