This was an Awesome race. i Prolly have one awesome race a month, and this was this month's. well anyways, i was on my way home as usual, when i spotted this civic Si. this was a blue Si lowered with white rims, he kept staring at my car, i figured he wanted to race, so i went way outa my way, and he never would race, oh well. Anways on my way (out of my way) this silver lude takes a right onto Alafaya from W. Colonial. and my light to go on Alafaya just turned green, i saw him glance at me as he made his turn, so i quickly caught up to him, and when i was about 5 cars back, i nailed it and flew by him, and we were both at full throttle until the next light, which was at the post office, across from the waterford lakes plaza for all the UCF folks. He was on his cell phone so i didnt expect him to have really caught up to my head start.
anyways, the next light we are behind some people, and cant really do much.
But, now we have the perfect opportunity, we pull up to the next light, right at the 408 entrance on Alafaya. side by side. our windows are down. Omg i forgot to explain the car, well he was a silver lude, new body style with ground effects, lowered right onto a set of 18's, i think the were 5 spoke maybe 8 spoke. he didnt have an exhaust, and i really had no clue of what could have been in the car.
So he starts tapping his gas pedal, not hard, just a tiny bit here and there. so i do what i usually do in a street race, i dont let the bastard here me wind up so i tap the gas hard before i know the lights gonna change so the engine is slightly prewound.
the light is about to turn green, i give her a tap. AND......
Green!. i lay that sucker on the floor, spinnin all over the place, but i caught real fast. and i got the launch on him.
All of the sudden i hear his V-tech kick in. LOUD AS A MOTHER. and i was like, uh oh. i am gonna get it in the ass. but i was right on that Sob like stink on a monkey. he was a bumper a head of me the entire time, but he never pulled. we raced up till about 60 mph i am gonna say, maybe a bit more. i am not really sure, we were both in third though. he prolly woulda pulled on me further into third gear, like the gs-r's do.
Well we puleld up to the next light an got to talking, and he told me that he has a freind with a new gt-s and they always mess around. so that was a perfect time for me to break him the news that he just raced a GT. he was suprised i think, and he asked what i had in it, and then i asked what he had, he only had an intake.
I told him i was suprised i was able to hang with him the entire time, and he said, "well i have 18's and they are really heavy rims". but it was all good, it was a freindly race. not completely safe, but no racing is. it was a wide section of road, with not many cars around, and we had plenty of stopping time. it was really kewl, had to be there.
