Fine, it's reopened.
Bulb type: H7, yes available at pretty much all auto parts stores. Also notated in your owner's manual or through a search of the site.

replace them both at the same time....trust me. the other will probably go out in a week no matter how the first one went.

this is a perfect opportunity to replace your bland "white" bulbs with colors or strobes. Even betther: strobed colors.
You can also removed the whole H7 bulb plug and insert burning candles. I call it the 1700's mod. It scores big at shows.

i like the burning candles ideas.......i have strobs, to much of a PITA to install....thanks for the reopening..... i jus needed to kno the type of bulb

so sorry to piss you off guy, but I thought it was a ridiculous question, and I personally would think that using the search function on this site, google or checking out the install section for that matter would make much more sense then starting a thread about how you don't know how to change a light bulb :gay: . Just some food for thought. Don't know if you have realized this, but you have started some of the dumbest threads I have ever seen on this site. (26" rims on a celica, still in shock from that one)
main point, try and start threads that are usefull or interesting, for easy things like this, it is simple to find it on your own.

Ok, what you will do is reach back behind the light(assuming this is the projector low-beam) and disconnect the wire plug and pull off the rubber boot. I would take both boots off the lights, and use one as a reference. Next, get a REALLY small screwdriver (phillips-head) and un-screw the screw holding the clip in place. Be careful not to drop it. Undo the clip around the bracket just pull the light out. Pull the bottom piece off the bulb and put it on the other bulb. Then just reverse the steps and use the other headlight as your reference. Placing the clip back into place seems to be the most difficult part about the job, and more than likely thats what you will be referencing to the other light for.
edit: and im at work not even looking at the light....that tells you how many times i have done this.

yeah putting the clip back on is a b*tch. Try to make sure you don't bend it when replacing it

^^^^Um, why do you need to unscrew anything to replace the headlight?? That is a step that really doesn't make much sense and is not needed. If your doing that you you are doing something that is very unnecessary.

the clip 'unsnaps' kinda like one of those metal buttons you wear on election day. I suggest after you remove the bulb, stick your head down there and look how the pin engages the light assembly - it'll help your replacing future bulbs, believe me. I used a small hand mirror to see the inside of the assembly, after hours of frustration getting it to seat properly!

all humor aside you can fvck off. I was being serious and trying to help the guy fix his problem. I seriously thought you had to take the screw out and i have done that about 3 times now and not had a problem putting it back in the housing. While I was getting corrected and understanding that you really DIDNT have to remove the screw, your stupid @ss came in here screaming like a little b!tch

I wasn't saying it to be a d*ck. A headlight problem is pretty basic. Something that you should be able to solve yourself with trial and error or research as long as you have basic car knowledge, and know your way around your celica. All I'm saying is that you should be pretty knowledgeable and comfortable with the different mechanical and electric systems in your car before you start spraying it. Too many people get nitrous thinking it's just another bolt-on type power mod that anybody can use without the proper know-how behind it.
Realize you have a nice car, and you should take the time to research it to take care of it properly. I know at some point everybody is a beginner, but if you take the time and can learn to self-diagnose (sp?) small issues like your headlight it will give you better experience when taking on a bigger project.
As far as your bulb problem, you should just take the front bumper off and remove the headlight housing (3 screws) and change the bulbs yourself. You'll have really easy access, and you can look at how everything works in there. You'll gain experience, and it will be easier when you want to do your own hid's or something like that down the road.
Good luck buddy :)

It takes 5 minutes to take the front bumper off, it's like 12 10mm bolts to undo and it pops off, than 3 10mm bolts for the headlight housing. If you want to see how everything works than this is the only way. I'd say even being your first time it shouldn't take more than half an hour. I just hate other people touching my car.

The bumper takes just a couple of minutes to take off. Literally less than 5 minutes. He's saying that so that you can easily look at all the parts and stuff without having to lean over the side of your car or guess. It would make future work much easier if you know how they all work. That way you will be able to get the lights in there properly. One last thing nobody said - If you got halogen lights DO NOT touch the bulb part! The oil from your fingers will heat up when the bulb turns on and will probably blow it pretty soon afterwards. Just a heads up

Here is how you reassemble the boot. have the clip back into place. Then you fit the boot around the dual prong. The tab on the boot (i think) should be at the top when you insert the boot back into place. That tab on the boot is something to grab when you pull the boot away from the housing. There also should be a indentation in the boot and a rivit on the housing which you can align the 2 up to. This shouldnt be that difficult to perform. Once the boot is back on the housing, re-attach the wiring so the light works.
edit:i still cant believe this thread went on for 2 pages......

There is no such thing as really busy in Vero Beach. You are on the internet for hours asking how to get a rubber part on as you could've already had the entire headlight apart and back together again.
