Hes been wanting this thing for at least over a year now and he finally got his hands on a red one for a really good price-14K. 2004 w/ lsd and 29k miles. Of course it had to come with the mopar BOV :thumbdown: but whatever....he likes it. The mods he plans on in the future - BIG TRUBO....i dont see it happening anytime soon, but it could happen. Anyway, the mod he needs the most now is the driver mod....but with lsd, im sure he shouldnt need to worry about it that much. I know when he had his 97 civic ex vs my 93 celica gt, i would EVERYTIME at least pull a car on him off the line. Most of the time it was about 2-1/2 cars off the line, then by 3rd his VTEC would finally prevail and pass me. I wonder how it will turnout with his new car vs my 00 gts.... I can tell you one thing - it will be videotaped.

No...those SRT's are fast. I still thing he's going to take you. It does really depend on driver ability though.

i have the driver mod over him....its just the power from the srt is in the advantage of his foot, and with lsd on his side as well, that will make up for his suckyness imo. I personally think he is going to be faster than me, but his driver ability isnt as good.

heres why my friend: 1st of all since alot of u guys dont like magazine racing, theres PLENTY of vids on streetfire.net of stock srt4 vs stock snakes.... and teh srt4 gets raped badly but here are some stats... FYI
2003 cobra runs 12.9 1/4 mile stock
05 wrx runs a 13.2- 13.4 stock
and a supercharged mustang GT would KILL a wrx b/c my friend has a vertech supercharged gt..... 440 whp w/ the blower, intake exhaust and cams.... and no1 jsut elave a gt w/ only a supercharger so i doubt the srt4 "KILLED" any of these cars, these cars KILLED the srt4, and if u dissagree, post videos
oh yeah, the 04 srt4 has clocked a 13.9 at the best stock...how ever ive seen a 13.788 w/ drag slicks.... so lets c those videos, if not, get them b/c i wanna c a srt4 " KILL" a cobra, supercharged GT, and "stage 2" wrx

srt is not a bad car for the price and if you plan on getting another car in the next 4 yrs. They suck horribly. There have been reviews of the shifter snap in half while shifting. worst of all its a neon. I wish they would have restyled the body and called the srt4, not the neon srt4

Evo's just don't feel like they can break lose when you driving at high speeds (85-120)around corners, they just stick to the road like no other car I have driven. I thought my celica suspension with the few mods I have done was pretty good, but I feel cofident that I could take most corners at about 10 to 20 mph faster in the evo, and still be in control (and the brakes are unbelivable, they feel like they could stop a semi). It's weird too because they have such good handling but at the same time ground clearence, which usually don't go hand in hand. Those SRT-4 drive like ****. They have to much torque steer of the line (IMO) and feel kinda like driving your moms ford tarus as to how they stick to the road, but they are really fast for the price.

I feel cofident that I could take most corners at about 10 to 20 mph faster in the evo,
even if the car could do 1.0 g's and the gt-s could only do .93 g's the difference in max cornering speeds is litterally only 2-3 mph.

Driver feel = driver confidence = higher speeds. Dont get me wrong i'm not saying an evo wont mop up a stock celica, but the fact that you think you can go so much faster in the evo is an illusion.

They seems to stick to the road so much differently. It just seems like the limit on my car comes much early then the evo. I think it has to do with the all wheel drive system, it does give the feeling of confidence that I get in my celica, but only to a certain point. (maybe I need new tires)

You haven't raced many srt-4s have you? Those things are pretty damn quick. easy to get into the 13's with them. I saw a few last time I was at the track running consitent 13.1-2.

I agree with this, my sons has eibach springs, hotchkis sways and tokico shocks and handles pretty dam well. I never noticed a huge torque steer problem either, unfortunately he was going to a friends saturday morning (after a long night I assume) and fell asleep hit a telephone pole and most likely totaled it. Fortunately he wasn't hurt at all.

I will side on dark star on this one. The srt isnt that bad of a car. Personally, I wouldnt own one because #1 the interior is definatly lacking in style and sPeED, #2 its fwd w/trubo which = no traction. My next car IS going to be rwd....thats why im looking at the s2k. And to jump to that subject, why is it that everyone looks at the s2k as though its NOT a honda? Would this be a good deal :

^ (I speak for myself here)cuz its not the Honda I speak of. I see Honda as Civics and Integras, etc. The S2000 and NSX are their Star Athletes, to me and on a whole different level. Oh yea, almost forgot about the Integra Type R. Probably the only FWD car i would consider getting (my celica was basically a hand-me-down).
You'll love that S2000, if you're into having run as you drive. Not too particularly fast but an overall, its a great car. I'd buy one if i had the money.
