Saw a skyline today, very impressed

I always thought the skylines were overrated, but i was very impressed with everything. The car looks great, has nice interior, and surprising room in the back as well. It was an r33GTR Vspec. I guess that the bonus of school in cali, you see cool cars. All my friends were like "you haven't seen one before?" and all that crap, but Motorex is only a few miles away, so they are a bit more common out here. I really like that car, but its still not worth the US $$$

well i dont know about othe places but over hear on the east coast near ny/nj area we get alot of skylines around here too...most of threm u dont even notice until they passed you or thigns liek that..i go to tjhis one club all the time and i see this skyline there all the time...its bright blue kinda like specrta blue and its a v spec r 33 gtr just like the one u saw....sme chinese kid got it from his dad for his b day ..its really nice and fast...there are a couple around here..that i've seen already...my brother in law woprks for one of the biggest shipping ports on the east coast and he says he sees skylines come off the ships all the time and he see alot of sick italian cars too... he also said when he goes to the airport to pick up shipmentds from other countriesd he picks up alot of imported japanese cars that were flown into here...its pretty cool..i like livin on trhe coast we get alot of cool sh*t comin through here....hehehe i love it...ok just thought i'd share your story..

hehehehehe............thats one of the funniest things i have heard on the NC.org forums......they'll smoke your VR4's and make them eat the asphault they rip up..........

The GTR is way better priced than an NSX. Think about this for a second, the cars that you get from Motorex are marked up QUITE a bit. And you can get a used R32 for about 30g, or a R33 for 50g. Plus, the GTR V-Spec is RWD the majority of the time unless it senses slippage an then it will divert power to the front wheels. This is electronically controlled bad ass sh*t. Why do you think the Skylines make such bad ass drift cars?

With little more money I rather get NSX then Skyline, because NSX has exotic car body type, but skyline is just a sports coupe..

What makes the Skylines so desirable is not the looks, but the possibilities. AWD and a 2.6l straight 6 that has been modded over 1000HP plenty of times. Stock, I would say it is close to the VR4, Supra, RX7.

The Skyline does have greater potential than an NSX does however. I know someone with an R32 and watched this bad boy on the dyno with basic bolt-ons (Intake, exhaust, and EBC). He pulled the fuse for his ATTESA E-TS and strapped it to the dyno.. Pulled 280hp.... played with boost controller, pulled 301hp.. played with the boost controller again and finished the day with 339 whp.

NSX is definitely my dream car. Its just a beautiful beast, and yes it is way overpriced. I know motorex marks up, thats why i said it wasn't worth the USD. Depends on what kind of potential you are looking for as well. If you are looking for 1000 HP potential, then you like the skyline. If you are looking for beat up the mountains potential, 1000HP may not help too much :) And as for the guy that said the skyline will eat a VR4, not really in stock form. In stock form they are not much faster than a VR4, but they are obviously easily modable.

And as for the R32 goin for 30G, you can get an old NSX for about 30G as well. All the used GTR's go for about the same as the used NSX's. Not saying either one is not pverpriced for USD, but I really wish they released the GTR in the US. It really was such a nice car.

VR4's are definately comparable to Skylines. They are both AWD and they are both capable of getting 1000hp out of the engine.

I would rather have an NSX than a skyline. It's fun to sit here and say that the Skyline has 1000+ HP potential, but in reality, the cost of doing this makes the 1000+ HP mark unattainable for most people. The Skyline is definatley a simply awsome car, and I give credit where credit is due, but I don't know why it acheives this god like statuse among cars. I think that it is definatley comparable to all the other cars listed.

hopefully we'll be able to see how a GTR stacks up against a vr4 in the next few years. i believe it was scc i saw the new infiniti g35 (think that was it). Big lazy brother of the GTR being a 4-door sedan, but it is a skyline. With the EVO and rumors of STI's and nissan's struggle to sell, hopefully we'll see a flagship Nissan sportscar to take over where the 300zx left off. Yeah the new 350 is nice but a v6 rwd just cant hop off the line like a twinturbo-awd.
Before i get flamed tho, i'm not saying its coming, just that it's a possibility in the future.
