umm got a problem

well guys I had a problem today with my celica. I was just letting my car idol and all of a sudden I noticed all my lights dimmed and im like what the and my battery light came on but it went off once i stepped on the gas. I turned off my car and tried to turn it back on to see if it would turn on and it wouldnt so I waited 5minutes and it turned back on and everything seems to be fine. I also got a sound system in my car could that like drained some power? Could it be the alternator or just the battery?

Battery or alternator.

The battery is used to start the car, after that, the alternator powers the car.

If the alternator dies, whatever juice left in the battery will power the car. How long is dependent on how much charge the battery has.

If its just the battery, then the car will start with only a jump and continue to run after that.
