I have a set on my car right now. They are ok, but they are not as sticky as I would like. I do like them better than the Yoko AVS1000 I used to have. Just remember you get what you pay for. I am thinking about the 712's when I replace these.

I have them on now, and they inspire no confidence while i drive. Very greesy feeling. Mind you I wear tires out pretty quick and these are pretty shot, but even when they were new they were not very sticky.
The 712 are alot better in my oppinion, and for the price can't really be beat, but there are tires out that are a lot better, and they don't really cost much more than the 712's.

I also have a set right now in 16's.....the 18's are FOCKED, i hydro'ed into a curb and w/ a 35 series tire, its not pretty.
Honest opinion on the tire.
~WEAK SIDEWALLS, really feels like they almost come off the road before the dig in the pavement.
~WET traction has been "OK" DRY....I'm in an AUTO and can spin tires....now thats just bad. **TPR exhaust, AEM CAI are the only performance mods....so i'm not thinking it has much to do with me having like 3 kagilliom HP, LMAO**
~RIDE pretty quiet....alot softer than the 18s and i've been on those for so long i forgot what 16's rode like so i can't compare to my michelin's.
OVERALL---- if you are limited on funds....its a good bang for the buck....no performance backing though....its just ot the same to own the celica anymore.

I don't think they're rated very highly for wet or dry traction; if you want bubblegum sticky on a budget, the Kumho premium tire is the Ecsta MX (I think Kumho just upgraded this tire with a new model, but not sure). You might also consider the Falken RT-615's, which replace the much acclaimed Azeni 215's.

The Azenis rt-615 replaced the azenis rt-215.

nah im gonna get more expensive ones...
can u get rt-615s in a size that fits the stocks 16s though?
so now ive narrowed it down to
kumho ecsta SPTs and FALKEN GR BETA FK-451 B
leaning towards the falkens but not sure

I had the 712s before the current set of 711s. Get the 712s; I'm going back to them when it's time to replace the tires.
The 711s are not very sticky at all and do not inspire any confidence whatsoever during hard cornering. I've tossed my Trix around in the canyons and I could noticeably "feel" the difference between these tires and the 712s I had before. The only thing positive about this tire is treadwear (rated 320 vs. 280), but as always whenever you want longer tread life you sacrifice performance. The 711s are by no means performance tires.

The Azenis rt-615 replaced the azenis rt-215.
Whoops -- thanks will edit the above.
Do you recall whether Kumho just updated their MX's this year or is that still in the works?

You might want to check out the tire test car and driver just did,Kumho's did not fare well .... Falkens seem to be a popular choice in the lower price range from what i hear

i had 512s..they are ok, but they are half assed performance tires...they are technically all seasons if u look at the description

MX-C is the only tire that I can recall. I don't know if they actually made the tire better but the smoke looks nice.

I have 711 because of my budget and they are not that great. For daily driving they are decent but don't expect good performance.
