I just swapped my 2001 engine and turbo kit with a 2005 stock engine. The car is louder now that I have a stock engine. Is the back CAT exhaust work better on a turbo charged engine? or is something wrong?

The turbo acts as a muffler, reducing exhaust noise along with the muffler(s) and resonator(s) of the exhaust system. Also, if the exhaust you're using has piping larger than 2.5" due to your turbo setup, you're losing power. 2.5" is the biggest you want to go. I've also heard the larger the piping, the louder the ehxaust noise is.

Thanks. I'm not sure how big it is. I was told it was backcat and I know it has TRD engraved on the end of the pipe.

Now the louder engine makes sense.

Measure around the outside of the piping right after the cat, and use this to calculate the diameter from the circumference (what you just measured):
