What is the order you do them in? Polish and then wax, or wax and then polish.
Also just to let you guys know, Finish 2001 polish takes out swirl marks with ease.

You polish first, then wax. Polish is an abrasive that removes scratches by cutting the paint down to the level of the scratch. If you polish after you wax, you will just end up removing the wax.

Cleaning your car is done in a variety of steps. If you keep it outside, wax about every three months or sooner depending on your free time.
First wash it with a car wash. You dont want to use dish soap, as it has cleaners that can remove oils from your finish.
Car wash. Wash the car throughly taking care to clean the engine first with a nice engine cleaner, or Simple Green. Simple green is all natural and has is safe on all surfaces. Wash and dry the car and then put in into a cool area. I put mine in the garage when i detail it. First i clay the entire clar with a clay bar, using my spray detailer as lubricant. Then i go over the car with a good polish, I use the stuff from Griot's Garage. Then wax the car, taking care to watch the cowl and the bottom plastic trim, as they are a pain in the ass to get wax off of if you get in on there. I will soon be using the random orbital to polish the paint and make it scratch free. I use the carnuba wax paste from Griots to wax. I heat it up in the microwave, and then i spread it on the foam pad to apply it to the buffer. It works great. Ive had great results so far and all it takes is a little bit of care inbetween to make your car look great,
Also, as a side note, if you add a touch of liquid wax to your car wash and use hot water. Make sure you rinse the car frequently as the wax can spot easily if it dries. But it will help prolong the life of your wax, and it acts as a lubricant on the paint while washing incase you accidently get some debris in your cleaning apparatus.
Hope it helps.
