I was looking into buying some aftermarket speakers for my 02 GT-s because I blew the passenger side rear one. I am hoping to only spend about $100 to $200 a pair. I was considering replacing only the rear speakers, but I was wondering if this would be a very bad idea, and should purchase a pair for the front and the rear? Also, I found a deal on Polk 6 1/2" component speakers (DB 6500) for $189.99 and buy one pair, get the second 50% off. I currently have a Sony Xplod deck (CD XF7710), and was wondering if this would be a good investment. I have heard that Polk is a very good brand, and was hoping someone could give me more insight on these speakers and tell me if just replacing one pair of speakers is a bad idea, or possibly recommend others in my price range ($100 - 200).

Another question: Can you put component speakers in the rear?

I would recommend Alpine over all others personally. You could probably get some Type S's you'd be happy with. You can put components in the rear but you'd have to run the extra set of tweeters somewhere. That is what I did (put the 2nd set temporarily kinda at the top of the a piller). If you don't want to drop all the $$ for two sets of speakers you could always put s new set up front and take out the blown rear 6.5" and replace it with one of the ones from the front.
Again, I'd personally recommend Alpine, especially if you're going to replace all the speakers and add subs. Alpine speakers sound incredible with an all-Alpine setup
