I am now the owner of a 2002 Yellow Mitsubishi Lancer.

They actually had a decent deal going on for:

No payments for 12 months, no interest for 12 months, and no downpayment.

No matter what I did I couldn't get a Celica approved but now I am driving a Lancer.

Sure, not as cool looking as a Celica, but I wouldn't count me out of making a great looking car with a little punch behind it. :cool:

Yes its OZ, yellow only comes on the OZ model (atleast in my area).

Yea I'll fix it up as best I can, first on the list is an exhaust and CAI, then I'll wait for some body components.

Worst case scenerio I wait a year and wait for someone to wreck an EVO and buy the engine and see if it will fit :P

The way I look at it, I have a civic strength car to work on, but its not a civic, which means I'm not played out hehe ;)

Actually yellow isn't the only color the OZ edition comes in, my friend recently purchased a charcoal grey OZ Lancer. Anyways, congraulations on your purchase, it looks pretty sharp.

it comes from the factory as a wimp :chuckles:

but i'm sure there will be a decent aftermarket for that car with the evo coming along...

Yea I got wrap, also got the aluminum brush dash panels and stuff too.


I'd honestly say the ugliest thing about the OZ Lancer are the puny 15" rims that come with it.

Of course that problem is taken care of hehe

I'm going to be selling my 5Zigen Copse's to someone in town to get something better looking for a Lancer, like the RacingHart C2 designish style rim.

Beware of the fine print!. A friend of mine got the
same deal on a Galant, now hes close to start paying and
guess what....$600 a month for a not-top-of-the-line Galant.
He tried to refinance but the difference between the market value and loan balance is a couple thou. So what I would do is start saving towards that difference cuz...his' interest rate at the end of 1st year is going to be 12.something if he doesnt refinance. Just a heads up but I hope you got a better deal. :gap:

Their idea of no payments or interest..is to help you get a smaller load..when that "year is up"....the more you pay from now until then...the less your payment will be a month...

not hatin the car.,...i test drove one...nice everything...even style, but no power..i wasnt impressed at all....infact the dumbass sales guy told me it had 180 hp! I blatenly laughed at him...and told him he was wrong...then i showed him he was wrong... it was funny... anyways...if you like it good for you ...to each his own....just start paying! or youll regret it!

Besides what some might say..I find the Lancer to be a pretty nice looking car..

When we were shopping for my wifes car..she took a look at the yellow OZ and she loved it...if it would have had a bit more power, I wouldn't have said no that's for sure. :D

Anyways..it is a Lancer even if it's not turbo...and that brings up the question:

Isn't there a turbo out for this thing? There's gotta be...it's gotta be low compression...I bet you could find a turbo for this thing and make it into what it really should be..and that's a powerhouse.

Probably totally possible. And from some light reading it is...You might want to look into the tech part of the forum...looks they're already turbos available. Heheh.

You hit the nail on the head about refianancing.

My dads been in used car sales for like 20+ years I got the skinny on how to screw the bank and dealership over hehe.

Basically you do make monthly payments for your 'free' 12 months and the end result is they can't collect interest on what doesn't exist :D

Did you know when you buy a house and make regular payments for the 30 year loan you actually buy the house 3 times. And don't have 1/2 of the principle paid until the 23rd year. Sad the way credit and loans work in this country. We'd all have a little more money if the banks didn't make so much.
