first of all, in case you couldn't tell, i'm not big on car sterios...i hardly listen to mine loudly anymore(sweet sound of the engine most of the time :))... however i end up with stuff for my car steriowise so i have some questions about it all....

I just bought two 4sq ft rolls of dynomat... one regular and one super... ($18.13 total for both on clearance at circut city)

any tips on putting it in? where should i start? i have stock 6 speakers... aftermaket HU, kicker 15... do the trunk lid first? what do i have enough to do?

so far it seems as if the plate and the gas cap are rattling the most... i bought some little things that go on the bottom of chairs to stop the plate, but i'm putting those on tommarrow.... what about the gas lid?

ok, another thing... i need something to cover the area around my HU.... i have two single din kenwoods and there is quite a gap..... is it just possible with a custom job or is there a kit?

any help will be apprciated...

 I just finished a nice long reply and my browser crashed when I hit Reply.

The short version: concentrate on the areas that are affecting YOU the most. I don't have a sub and therefore no large rattling problems. I used 100 sq ft and did everything BUT the floor, from the rear foot well to the firewall, with 2 - 3 layers and it helped out a lot. I suggest doing the areas behind the speakers to reduce unwanted vibrations and increase their "punch". I think that you should get more and do it completely once while you have everything apart. Search GB for "Sound Damping" back in Sept. for a good deal I found.

Use some foam padding for the gas lid and check the hatch release mechanism for rattles too, others have found it to be a big problem. I don't know what "plate" you are talking about and I don't have anything about the HU. Good Luck

btw- I have pics showing how to remove the interior plastics if you would like to check them out.

thanks man.. plate means license plate.... how do i stop the trunk lever from rattling? i dont want to use foam on the gas lid because i did that with the license plate on my old car and it traps water which runs for hours after you wash it.....

i've taken off all the plastics so many times it's not funny....

Regarding the gaps around your HU, supposedly the Japanese and Euro Celica's have a kit for this. I've never confirmed this though.

Otherwise, just get some ABS plastic and make your own.
