Hi guys, I'm afriad this has ben answered before but since I don't understand a lot of the posts that are audio-technical bear with me:

I want to use an aux-line input to put audio into my 2003 GTS with the JBL pro audio system thingy. I do not have an input, correct? I have to buy a cd-changer to aux input lnie device right?

Where are they the cheapest? Link? Is one available at outpost.com?

Also does this just plug inline to my existing harnesses? Would I have to replace my existing amp?

Finally, how woudl I activate this Aux? All I have are AM/FM/CD/Tape buttons on my stereo.

Is there a way to put it in simultaneously to my other audio? It's only going to be for GPS so it seems kinda silly to turn off the radio for a four hour drive of turn left turn right, etc. And possibly make the car audio volume reduce while the GPS speaks?

So MANY questions. Do a search for the cheapest. These folks are reasonable:http://www.discountcarstereo.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=2
The only trouble may come with it being a 2003.

Far as I know... you don't have an input on the OEM. Yes, you need a CD changer input adapter.

It plugs into the HU. No, you do not have to replace the amp. I believe activation shows up as CD 2 when you select CD.

In answer to your last 2 questions... probably not with the factory HU... unless you did some serious mods.

Thanks. That seems to take care of most my concern. Would this unit work? http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=705 It's the USASpec DF-toy for the 98-05 toyotas.

Would appear to. That will give you 2 inputs.... so you could throw iPod & GPS in there.

& this corrects my previous answer:
3. Use the radios TRACK UP/DOWN buttons to switch between Aux1 & Aux2. [radio display shows "CD6 Track 1" for Aux1 & "CD6 Track 2" for Aux2.]

I've never ordered from them, so let us know your experience.

Recently did this to hook up my sat radio directly to stock headunit in 04 GTS. Ordered from discountcarstereo.com, although I ordered the PIE adapter instead of the USA-Spec unit. The install is easy, but you MIGHT get some alternator whine that you hear through your speakers...this can be solved by using good shielded rca cable, or if that doesn't solve it, picking up a ground loop isolator from radio shack, which is like $15.00.

Once plugged into your CD changer AUX, you activate it simply by pushing DISC. It will show something like disk 1, track 1 on the display, which obviously means nothing since you'll be hearing either your ipod, satellite, or whatever you're hooking up to it. Throw an actual CD in it, and then it will automatically switch to the CD.

Was very impressed with discountcarstereo.com. Extremely fast shipping, got the thing in two days. Seems like they have lots of other fun toys also.

Good to hear. I'd hate to be steering anybody to some jokers.

Thanks guys. The site's nice but seeing as they are only $2-3 less from MSRP and I'm not an audio guy I might pick one up local. Still waiting on my GPS though before I finalize wiring it into the stereo...might just keep it on external speaker.
