Are you topping off a whole bunch? If so you are probably saturating the EVAP system and you're getting a huge rich spike as a result.

Did you have the car tuned to the new equipment or was this DIY

no...it does it no matter what amount of gas i put on...
this was done by me and my mechanic and i have a base map on the emanage...
the only thing that i could think is that i had to remove the catalytic to make room for the flexpipe... could that be the cause?
also i know someone that his car is stock and also does the same thing after he put gas on it, hes been running his car like that for a few months cause he has never found the cause...

ok i will send it now, but remember this isn't safte to go boosting about and its on the greddy emanage not anything else.
Do you have a greddy pressure sensor?
I can send you my fuelmap, partly tuned up to 9 psi. where it's not tuned it's set too rich.
I am running yellow gts injectors with uprated fuelpump

i know.. i just want to test the area where my car leans out on the hills...its from 1500rpm to 2000rpm... when im on boost the car is running 12.3 afr...thats on 5 psi...

i dont have the pressure sensor... :sadpace:
if the car is running and i get to a hill the car runs perfect ..its only when i have to stop and then go again in the middle of the hill....

why don't u add some fuel to those RPMS then?
PRRedCelicaGT
12-29-2005, 10:56 AM
ive tried but then when im cruising(flat road) on those rpms the car runs wayyyy too rich... like 10's afr....believe me ive tried a lot of different settings in that area before i ask here..

are your injectors leaking, not sealed properly by O rings?

Your car will not start after every fill up?
You plugged the hoses going to your air intake wrong.
My buddy have same problem when he reinstalled his stock air box back into his car, and the hoses was plug in backwards which caused same exact problem.
It took Toyota Tech 4 tries and 1 Toyota Master Tech 2 tries to get this figured out.
did you put in a new fuelpump?
maybe the filter is sucking air when you're on a hill?
check the hoses as mike says, I wouldn't be surprised

Load is much higher on a hill - this is a tuning issue - you need more fuel at that rpm at the higher load points

You have tuning issues for sure!!! same as my old problem:)
Get the pressure sensor + harness
It's not that expensive and makes tuning soooo much easier

the pressure sensor, injectors and fuelpump are on my x'mas list... :chuckles:

apart from the problems stated, have you had the case of the turbo leaking oil yet? And most importantly how does the car go when you floor it, is the ATR kit good for speed?
PRRedCelicaGT
01-02-2006, 06:48 AM
yes its the ATR....i had the oil leak but i sent that to repair and it was a misplaced seal on the hot side...it only took like 10 mins, they didnt even charge me...if u havent intall it please send to check the turbo so u dont have to put it and then take it out again...
the car feels totally different when hits boost,it feels very strong in all gears,if u floor it the car pulls very nicely in an instant...thats my experience on 5psi...i cant wait to reach the 8psi...
with the turbo its like driving a totally different car...
update...i pretty much eliminated the lean afr on the hills..but the gas thing still there, ive check all the hoses and they seem right...

i found out what was causing the gas problem.. turns out that the plug for the evap service line was broken.... fix it up.. and now everything is good...
thanks everybody....
