I thought mobil1 was not going to be synthetic anymore but when I checked the autoparts stores, they only had their old synthetic mobil oil. At least the container looked the same, unless they just changed the inside contents with the same label.
So why shell out big bucks for amsoil now?

The reason why it is still be sold because they still have stock. No point in recalling all the old formula when they work just as well as the new one.

Give it some time, once the old formual runs out, there will be no more.

I bought 100 quarts of mobil1 today but at an increase of $.50.

Why they jack up the price.

I don't understand why mobil doesn't just sell it as a topline oil and introduce a $2 "fake" synthetic blend to compete against castrol.
Autoparts stores people had no clue the deal with mobil discontinuing the synthetic oil.
Don't mobil know that most people will know the difference betw true synthetic oil and what is not?

I'm confused.. this is the first I'm hearing about this.

Is the new one better than the old tri-synthetic blend?
