so.. me and my friend tried to experiment w/ the lighting in my car.. we cut the wires to a blacklight and hooked everything up to the dome light.. it was working for ther 1st few times.. till we put the bulb back into the lightbulb while the blacklight was also hooked in.. after that though.. both lights didnt work nomore.. we either think the fuse blew out.. are we shorted the circuit.. w/e that means.. what do you guys think happened?!? and if so.. any ideas to get my lights working again.. o0o yeah.. the clock light is really dim now too.. =/

A blacklight or a backlight? Sounds like you may have grabbed onto the dimming circuit somehow.

Obviously, check the fusing. If fusing is OK, then disconnect what you did & put it back normal, post up what it is that your trying to do & we'll help you figure out how to do it correctly.

its a blacklight we're trying to put into my car.. we tried taking the fuse out w/ that lil clip thats connected to the panel but it wouldnt come out and do you know which fusing i should take out since we might be trying to take out the wrong one.. well basically all we're doing is.. connecting the blacklight onto the top of the car.. and basically trying to replace it over the domelight.. so when you switch it to on.. the blacklight comes on instead of the domelight.. it replaces the domelight

You don't want to be exceeding the current used by the existing domelight... which is somewhere around 350mA... I certainly wouldn't go over 500mA (0.5A)... as the dome light is controlled by the body ECU when doors are opened. If your blacklight requires more current than that... you'd have to use a relay to isolate things (not that hard). Hopefully, you haven't damaged the body ECU already.

The fuse to check is the 7.5A DOME fuse... which I think is in the passenger kickpanel fuseblock.

dang.. i was trying to figure out which 1 is 7.5a but i really have no clue.. =/ i also realized that my trunk light dont work neither.. so does that mean anything else?!? so if i get the fuse out what do i need to do.. replace it?!? and do you know if theres any easier way to take the fuse out cuz its like jammed in there.. thanx for the help though!! i really appreciate it!!

DOME Fuse

It also powers the Luggage Lamp.
