I got MOMO GT-2 17x8, with Kuhmo's 225/40 tires, and my tire seems it doesn't fit very well with the wheel's rim. The wheel's rim sticks out somewhat, and the tire doesn't sit flat on. Anyone have the same problem? The rim looks like it was designed for a higher side wall or something......

Sounds like you got what you paid for.
17x8 wheel, it is actually about 9 inches wide (the 8 inches is where the bead actually seats, not at the rim lip).
225/40 tire, 8.8 inches wide (at the widest) the tread is typically not the widest part.
So, the rim, being wider than the tire sticks out.
Yup, that sounds right.
Also, what model Kuhmo did you find in 225/40-17? I wasn't aware of any, just the 225/40-17 Nitto (the only one in that size I've ever heard of).

Sorry, my bad, it's 215/40-17.
Dam, if I only knew better before i bought them.
Would going 235/40 be pretty bad?

Yeah, 215/40-17 is even skinnier, no wonder the rim sticks out.
225 would certainly fit no problem (and look better), the 235 would fit as well, but be huge...

The difference between 215 and 225 is 0.394 in, would this make a big difference?
I already scratched the one rim lip from a curve. :(
got any ideas on how to repair it?
That can be rounded to 0.4in which is pretty close to a half inch if you really think about it that way. So literally that's a half inch difference.
