my friends tahoe you can play the ps2 and cut it off, keep playing and when you go to start the vehicle back...it doesn't reset the tv and the ps2.
In my celica it does. I have the screen wired to the cig lighter and an inverter in the floor hooked to the cig lighter for now(I will run it to the battery soon)
hopefully this is an easy wiring fix.
thanks for any help in advance

Your freinds Tahoe prob has a ACC power, Constant power, and ground hookup. When the ACC powers up the unit cuts on. However since it's always connected to constant power also, it holds it's memory.

Ahh I read it a little more in detail
He's either got his inverter wired to his battery or constant 12 volts in his ignition harness. So that means the inverter is always on regardless of the key position. However, your going to have manually cut off the inverter once your done with it.
When your inverter is hooked up to your cig lighter, the cig lighter only powers on when your key is on or the car is running. To fix this, you will either have to run your inverter straight to the battery or run it to the constant 12 volt wire in the ignition harness behind the key cylindar.
