im planning on dynamatting my car since there is a lot of rattling. I'm going to be purchasing the dynamat off of ebay. there is one called FATMAT and one called Ultimate (b-quiet) has anyone experienced these? are they good and worth it. the main question is how much sq ft will i need to do my whole car? or just the back half of my car?

the rattle in my celica is horrible!!! i can't even enjoy my L7 kicker cuz i'm emberassed of how much rattle it makes outside. even when the hatch is raised, it rattles. i've heard of two methods, dnynamat, and acoustic insulation foam.

so please, those that have done either of these to their celicas, or other things, let us know. we would really appreciate it

You'll need 100 sqft to do the whole car. Includes floors, roof and firewall. 36sqft for just the rear.

exactly what i was going to say, i did 72 square foot in my girls celica's trunk all in all i used 6 bulk kits, they are 36 sq ft each, i would use dynamat, i have never had any expierience with that fat mat stuff but i wouldnt recomend it, i would definatley not reccomend expandle insulation foam, that will turn quickly into a nightmare and one hell of a mess, just stick with dynamat, and be careful it will cut your fingers pretty easy, but you can never have too much dynamat, when i did all the dynamat in my girls celi, it still had the factory jbl system in it and it sounded ten times better, the doors close much more solidly now, no pinging when she shuts them, and she can turn the stereo to full blast, and you can hardly hear it outside, her back window flex's so much it looks like its going to blow

will just the rear solve my problem? and is it really hard to dynamat the whole car? would you recommend me doing it myself or getting it professionally done.

It's not hard to do it. You need to remove all your panels, seats, headliner, and carpet if you want to do the whole car. Clean the metal so the tar sticks to it well and start laying down the dynomat.

Do just the rear and see if that's enough for you. I always go all out so I did the whole car.

A pack of 36sqft cost 200-250 at stores. Ebay it's about 100 plus shipping, so you save 75-100 dollars of ebay.

I have 20 sheets of dynomat. I didn't lay it or ever seen it, so I don't know where all its at... I just know I had so much rattling it was rediculous, come back and there is not a single rattle.

yeah definately ebay, you could probably eben email the person on ebay and ask them if they would give you a better price if you bought multiple bulk kits, im sure they would, there are always bulk kits on there for around $135 shipped, as far as if you need to do the whole car, its all personal preference, start with the truck and go from there, the more sound deadening you do the better the system will sound, it cuts out the outside road noise, and kills alot of the rattling
