Hey guys, I finally got the center console that can house an LCD. I'm gonna try to get this sucker working in a couple days. The uploaded images are at nextcelica.net, but here's the link to the images.

That's a good question, because I asked my uncle there, and he said, "don't worry about it." Dammit, I only wanted to know how much it was since you know how factory replacements can get pretty expensive. Well, the LCD was about 135, and it is a 5.6" TFT screen made by Sharp. So .... yeah... I guess total cost was 135 dollars! Now I just have to go to the plastic shop to get some plastics to bend and glue so I can use the stock holes behind the trim to screw on the screen. This will be a fun project, and really clean factory look. :) Though now I have to make some type of LCD cover or something so it would discourage theft. I don't want someone looking in my car and see that big ass center LCD thinking, "heheh, what else does he have in there?" and come back that night and take away my stuff. It has happened before in my old integra. All my sound system mods that were suppose to go into my celica were taken away by some bastard thieves. I still remember that day, and I take precautions about it since then. If you don't think it can happen to you, that's BS!

"uncle" - "the family" can get "interesting" "things" from "special" places..... a lil "arm-twisting" and he can get anything he "desires"

hey, you got it earlier than me... anyways I was planning to get it too. was it 7' screen that fits on there?

I think so. I know a 5.6" can barely fit inside. Regardless a plastic cover has to be made inside to make the lcd look clean inside. As to how much it really costs, I really have no clue, as it was bought as a gift. I am assuming 200-250 dollars from a Toyota Dealership in Japan.

I'll be in japan in june so I can check exact prices for you guys
