View Full Version : Will there ever be a FI GT-S kit?

Well it seems like we are never gonna have a turbocharger or supercharger... everybody keeps saying they are gonna come out with something, but it all falls through. What happened to the Blitz supercharger for the US? What happened to Turbo Performance? I guess maybe there will be the XS kit at the end of the summer, but 6 grand? Geez... just venting...

if you want a turbo, then you should have bought a turbo car..

larry I've been thinking that a lot lately. I'm really looking at the wrx, it just isn't anywhere near good looking like the celica though.

To be honest same here...
But it DOES grow on you a bit. I STILL prefer my Celi any day...it just feels more race inspired (ya..and the WRX ain't).
After purchasing our WRX and driving for a couple of days, I thought I might be extremely disappointed in my Celica when I went to drive it again, but I just wasn't. The thing fits like a glove and you feel like you're flying when you're only doing 60. I loved my Celica.
The Celica smooshes the WRX like a bug in the looks department, but the WRX has it's own distinct AGRESSIVE look.
It looks really damn mean..espescially with that HID projector headlight conversion, coilovers, and a body kit.
And again..the modability is simply disgusting. Go take a look at the mods already. There might not be much of a choice yet, but there's already stages 0, 1, and 2 out there that will get you down to supercar speeds. Absolutely freaking ridiculous.
After I'm done with this last install of Nitrous, I'm going straigt to the WRX. I might get an exhaust and some rims, too finish up, but for serious power, I am deciding to go with the REX.
But like I said, the Celi is still a bad ass motha. I STILL get looks..heheh. And I'm uglier than I was a couple of years ago..heheh. :D

I'm just gonna make my car bad ass. Screw buyin another one. I like the way my car looks. Sure, I'd like to have a GST or somethin with a turbo. But my car would completely haul ass whenever a kit comes out for it. So I'm just gonna wait and save. I drive mine daily now. I'm gonna wait for a long time so something reliable will come out and I won't have to change every damn thing under the hood.

yes the car will definitely be super fast with forced induction.. i just get tired of everyone always saying "gimme a turbo gimme a turbo, and then bitching about the price".. for my turbo upgrade between the intercooler, fuel work, and turbo itself I spent almost 3000.00 and thats for a car thats turbo already.. if you wanna go fast your gonna have to be patient and pay for it

i think 6 grand installed is a good deal.
both of those custom turbo gt's out there both spent 8g's on their's and they have to tune them still from what i remember.
im sure once its released to the public it might be a little less than 6 grand
Tony01Gts
04-29-2002, 04:39 AM
I agree about everyone's bitching larry, but is it just me or does every company promise us turbo by a certain date and then they just disappear back into the woodwork? The turbo performance kit had my hopes up...
larryd

its not just turbo kits though.. everything takes time to be developed..

You know what...I am really starting to not care. If it happens, it happens. If it doesnt, it doesnt. All that matters to me is that i have a car that everytime i drive it i say to myself "Damn, I love this car!" I said it when it was bone stock and i say it now with very minor bolt-ons. It seems to me that MOST honda people cant really say that. WE( I ) can. and im damn happy to have such a reliable and fun car. My 2 cents.

I think Honda peeps love their cars just like we do. I had a Civic, and I was as happy with that car as I am with this car. They're both dope automobiles. However, I still want to make my Celica AT LEAST as quick as I made my Civic.

Somebody named Paulie IM'd me when I wasn't here and said they called turbo performance and that they will do a GP on the kit for 3000..... if anyone is interested they should contact them. I am not gonna get the kit till 1) someone has it for a while 2) we see some pics 3) we see some dyno results

if i want to go fas,t I'll just buy a fast car to begin with, I'm not trying to clown but common, don't bitch about the price, thats what you have to pay when you wanto make a "quick" car "fast",
:p go WRX!!!! :p

Well, people who believe that "if you wanna go fast, buy a fast car" and "if you wanna turbo, buy a turbo car" are basically missing the point of the whole sport compact phenomenon. I mean, if no one wanted to make their little Hondas, Toyotas, etc. better looking and better performing, this whole industry wouldn't exist. Personally, I love everything about my ride (looks, handling, braking, etc.) except I'd love to have it with about 50-70 hp more than stock. In any case, to each his own.

if i had the $$$ (and a car hehe) i would design a kit and either send it to a company or have several made if its sucsessful and sell it to who ever wants it (but then again, im only 13)
CelicaLicious

is it really that important to blow 3-4G's for a GOOD turbo kit right now? someone will make it, juss wait..
CelicaLicious
04-29-2002, 07:34 PM
and another thing! i really hate these new engines, with the exhaust manifold on the firewall side, makes things so much more difficult, just like on that GT, i dont want no pipe running across my entire engine bay..
maybe Jackson racing will take initiative and come up with an SC for this car, it would be alot easier messing with the intake manifold..

i got 94 civi hatch wit the j-spec b18c motor runnin 14psi and 454 whp... so tell me when do you wanna race tony01gts.
Tony01Gts
05-02-2002, 08:24 PM
lets see some dynos... anyways, civics are ghey as hell... everyone has one. There's not as much as an aftermarket for our celica... Besides, a stock Celica would smoke an outhandle your ugly @ss civic stock anyday. If you want some respect here, then be original and don't come here talking sh*t.

It is obvious that that Lift7800 has forgotten his place in that NOBODY gives a $hit in what his civic loving A$$ has to say! As a side note there are a few things you should know such as: you just proved how full of $hit you are when you sayed " I got 94 civi hatch wit the j-spec b18c motor runnin 14psi and 454 whp." We all know that your even lucky to maybe get the 90 hp stock from that piece. Second, I bet you have a 110 dB muffler that bellows smoke every time you get on that suped-up weedeater. Finally, the only time that thing will ever go above 60mph is when you drive it off of a cliff when realize how much of a WORTHLESS SACK OF $HIT you really are.
So Lift7800 don't come and start looking for $hit you cannot handle you worthless b!tch!

Lift7800 is full of Shi%t, i don't think 14psi on a jspec b18 can produce 454 WHP, maybe 454crank but not wheel, anyways hes full of it, jspec b18? yeah 4-5 g's, 3-4g's if its a hook up, but damn who really has hook ups on cheap JDM unless you a big dealer, 14psi would prolly blow away the b18 without extra bottom end reinforcement. if you really got something that good, why you coming on a celi board and braggin about it, and please don't try to post pics that aren't even yours
CelicaLicious
05-04-2002, 12:13 AM
LOL.. ok first off lift is a dork to say the least...a J-spec B18c.. why would you waste your money on that? about another 500-1000 dollars for another 10HP.. please spare me..B18B is a much better motor..
anyways 14psi will NOT give you 454whp... youre car is not a mustang or camaro.. i dont know if any of you followed "project low budget" on clubsi.com but st00pid built a B18B (LS motor) at 17-20 PSI and was not making anywhere near 454whp.. something in the 300 range i believe..only thing used to protect the bottem end was an STR block gaurd...
and ya know.. i really dont appriciate trolls coming in here and claiming stupid things.. go away.. or read up on your **** so you can contribute to the common wealth..

05-04-2002, 12:41 AM
my buddies 94 supra TT is boosting more than that. And he only gets 387 whp!!! U lying maybe?
silver-s
05-04-2002, 12:45 AM
oh, and the guy i was talking about with the supra. he had a 93 civic 2 door and tried to raise the boost to 10-12 pounds and guess what? It blew up. He even got a thicker head gasket to lower the compression. The people who installed the kit said not to go over 8-9 pounds but he did anyways. Altered Atmosphere installed the kit for him. and yes, it was on a b18c
