how can i tell the dealer?

when i shift from first to second at high rpm's above 6000 it grinds every time or does not go in at all and i am not hitting the reverse gate, my question is how can i tell the dealer so that they will cover it under the warranty. i was thinking of saying that i had to speed up to get into traffic and it grinded then i tested it out and it did it again. so i am going to have the technician drive it while i am in the car and tell him to floor it in first and try to shift quick at 7500 rpm's. if you shift really slow it won't grind becasue the rpm's drop below 6. so is this the best way to explain it to them so i can get my syncrho fixed?

just be like..wtf is that sound...and give them ur keys...be like...i need to drive fast to get on freeways, and when i shift, it sounds all goofy!

keith. i am going home to s fla. for the week. if it can wait, i will go take you to my guy next week. if you cant wait, go to courtesy toyota off 436 and university. talk to dave yates, hes a larger guy. tell him adam wilkens sent you, the kid with the blue celica white rims. tell him this......"when i shift into second gear, the car grinds, i dont know why, it just started doing it recently"....dont make it sound as if its your fault. they get similar problems like this every now and again, they will fix it for you. ok well hope this helps..........lemme know what you want to do.

haha, it just got worst the past week, now it'l grind at about 5000, damn syncrhos!

I noticed this same thing on my car... Have you tried downshifting to 2nd...? Try doing that and see if it grinds too. Toyota replaced my whole tranny because of it.
