ok heres the scoop--they heard back from japan--for some reason they can only order so many at a time--i am gonna call them tommorow and get the complete story--but we ca get 7 now-the febuary 2 weeks away they can order 10 more-so thats 17--they wont be able to order ten more until march-so anybody after 17 will have to wait until march, or wait to see if they can get them from another trd dealer or wait to see if someone drops out--the 1st 7 are as stands--it will take 4 to 6 weeks for shippment from japan

Sorry for the triple post but I just realized something:

Rico, is this GB just for the lid? ...or does it include the fuel cap?..The whole time I've been thinkin its the fuel cap and lid but it just occurred to me that though the one pic u show includes the cap and lid, u've been referring to it as lid in the singular. I just found out stores actually sell this individually so u can purchase the lid separately.

So..is the GB for the lid only or both fuelcap and lid?

the reason some companies from outside of the usa ask for your social number is because they use it for customs as a tax id number--its not a new thing---but its not a big deal--dont put it on the form if you are not comfortable with it--just add ur phone number---if customs decide to look at your shippment and there is no tax id number on it--they might call you to verify what the package is and get your info--the chance of this happening is slim to none--but if it does happen--ity may slow ur order up a few days--thats why i said if you dont put the ss # and ur package get held up at customs--its not my fault------i hope that clears up all the questions--you could also call boomplustoy for answers to your question--i have posted their number on this board several times

I was aware before I made my post that they didn't NEED it. The fact that they would even ask for it pisses me off and as a customer I would prefer not to deal with any company that does that.

Like I've said before, I've gotten quite a few parts from Japan before and it was never even mentioned. I KNOW it's not required and it makes absolutely no sense to ask for it. I usually don't even have to provide a phone number unless they use freight shipping once the product gets stateside and the truck can't go down neighborhood streets. And I seriously doubt something as small as a fuel lid is going to get freight shipped.

Sounds like a scam to me. Customs does not require any such info. as this company is claiming that they need. This sounds too fishy to me and usually if things sounds that way they are that way. well i paid and got it done with.

just need clarification on this.... i thought there is a feb and march order. does that mean for the first 7 who will be gettin theres...we will basically be waitin till march to receive it or will we be gettin it in feb. i was under the impression it was already in transit to the vendor hosting the GB then simply to be shipped to each respective buyer.

Actually you should use the supplied rivets. You can get a rivet gun for 15 bucks or less or use a friends. It's simple to install the lid.
