just to state that this is all personal opinion, take it as you will.

ok this is my story, horror story that is about www.fibercation.com, owned by shane o'farrel. There are quite a few pics included so it may take a while to load. I contacted fibercation about wrapping the front pillars, rear window surrounds and gas lid off my girls celica in early november. We agreed on a price and i sent him out the parts shortly after that. He promised me they would be done by christmas, as i told him they were christmas gifts.

I checked in with him about every other week or so just to make sure they were coming along fine, he kept saying yes they are going great etc. etc. etc. you will have them for christmas dont worry. About two weeks before christmas he said the gas lid and fronts were done but he had to order more material for the rears, since they were larger than he expected, even though i sent him several pictures and exact measurements of the parts.

This started to worry me a little since i figured if he were an actual shop, he should have enough materials in stock to do any size job since he brags of doing dashes, targa tops etc. I asked at that time if he could send me some pics of the comleted parts, he promised he would, but they never came. About a week before christmas i again asked for pics and if they would be done in time, and he answered with " get off my ass, im having some personal problems right now and i will get them done when i can.

That was the last time he answered me, he wouldnt respond to emails from then on. I finally found out his a.i.m. name and instant messaged him, he got real shi*ty with me saying " you will get your sh*t when i feel like finishing it, if you dont like it i will send it all back un-finished and give you no refund" We went back and forth for a while and i decided to just ignore him and hope they would get here soon.

Well i got them this past saturday, pretty much a month past promised date, my girl called me at work crying because the parts were so terrible. She took them to our body shop guy to see if he could possibly fix them, and he told her to just throw them in the garbage, there is nothing that can be done. The parts are very wavy, cracked, scratched from improper sanding, and parts of them arent even wrapped rather spray painted black and that was never mentioned to me. on some parts of the rear plastics, the carbon fiber doesnt even touch the plastic, there is a gap between the plastic and material. I called him and big shocker, he didnt call back.

I contactd him on a.i.m again and he couldnt believe that i had a problem. the parts were flawless in his opinion. and to top it of he said that if i didnt like it, it was just too bad since he basically did them for cost anyway.

Here are several pics, hopefully you can see what i am talking about since the gel coat puts off a good glare with the flash, i just wanted everyone to be aware that this guy is a liar and a thief, and he will take your money, ruin your parts, and run

since it is so hard to see with the flash and the darkness of the panels,i will try and highlight the actual panel with a red line and the carbon fiber with a green line in the pic so you can see how far apart they are at certain points, and the others of what appears to be just a black area, or a very wavy black area are the window sills that are painted black, and very wavy, looks like a bad fiberglass job

i know drpmazda in real life and i am close friends with him, i can tell you for a fact that he is a good guy who really knows his car stuff, just look at his seller feedback on here.... what he says about fibercation is true i can assure you that....

Ouch, that all looks horrible. Wow, sorry to hear about this. To me it looks like he didn't like being rushed, and purposely trashed the pieces. :thumbdown I've actually dealt with Shane over AIM as well, and I wasn't too pleased with his responses. I was trying to get a feel for him and his business and talking to him over AIM made me feel like I was dealing with a teenager. Even though his prices were great, and responded quickly to PM's, that experience turned me off and made me second guess sending him anything to be wrapped. Based on your experience, sadly, I'm glad I decided against him. After much deliberating I've decided to bite the bullet and pay for the quality that is Top Shop. Having two of their pieces before, I'm confident that they can get the job done correctly. I guess that old saying holds true, you really do get what you pay for. :( Btw, you need to update your sig with a new addition IMO.

i am actually having tony do her headliner right now, he is a good person,always gets back to me, but he told me he is pretty slammed right now, or i would send him the stuff to redo, i should have sent it to him in the first place but was on a budget, well i guess i should have just waited and saved more and had tony do it, but you live and learn and hopefully people will learn from this, the worst part is that paypal wont back me up on the whole thins so theres nothing i can do, well i have some stuff planned but we will see

How much did it cost you? If its worth it, take his ass to small claims court and keep the parts are proof. I have seen this on Peoples Court(haha) hundreds of times and the consumer always wins.

Well add another vendor to the **** list. People like that piss me off. If I pay for something I want the product in a timely manner with some good communication on the way. I understand that custom stuff takes time but If Im prompt with payment then they should be prompt with delivery. As far as quality goes he screwed you royally. You never know you might be able to tv judge him. Not sure how that crap works.

^^ only other people that seemed to have parts done would be the armrest gb alittle while back. he has been banned on here for a long while so dont think many got work done by him on here. prettmyuch the majority of pieces done were mine and then your large parts.

nope. he did some shiesty work for me. i've emailed him many times, and he said to send him pics. once i did, bam! he disappears, and i don't hear from him again. the resin that he used started to bubble, and now i have craters in my gauge surround. the fitment is crap. the armrest has already separated and come off the plastic. i used to have pics posted until my laptop crashed, but i still have the p.o.s. parts where i can take and post these pics again. i've since just learned it myself. i'm not the best, but i'm sure better than his crap.

sorry to revive an old thread...but with the abundance of fibercation parts on ebay latlely...i thought maybe adding my experience and bumping to top would help others see it a little more.




you can add me to the list of ppl Fibercation has screwed. Ecu cover from ebay. The fiber didn't even to all the way to the edges, the paper he wrapped it in got stuck to the clearcoat and ruined it. I had to use kitty hair to mold all the gaps b/t plastic and the fiber, and then re-clearcoat it.

sure was a pain in the arse! I emailed him about it he said "we can re-clear for you if you like", I told him he did shotty work and that I wasn't sending out my stock piece in return like the auction specified and left neg feedback.

I had Fibercation do my armrest, now trashed... and my center-dash-sunglass-lid-thingy, now peeling off.

Topshop, on the other hand, is the best choice for CF wrapping I've seen.
I've got their door inserts and hatch cover, and had same for my Cougar from them before. Perfect quality, professional work.

I wish I was closer, I would have them do every piece of the interior of my car minus the dash and plastics around the rear windows and the beside the back seats, I'd want some contrast in there. I too am raising this thread from the dead to add in my story! :) I saw this thread in your sig drpdmazda. Anyway, this CandyAppleCarMan has also messaged me on AIM too! Everytime I get on, he is on and messages me stuff like he would own me in a race, and how Im a sissy cuz I wont race him, although I have no idea where he is from and what not.
