This is originally posted in www.alltrac.net but is being posted in as many Toyota sites i can find.

I am trying to gather interest in an all out TOYOTA meet. I'm talking about Celicas, Supras, MR2's, Scions, Corollas, Matrix, ETC.... all in one place at the same time.
The location: Western PA. www.beaverun.com
Attraction: Rallycross, Autocross, Show and Shine, Maybe some parade laps and Dinner.
Cost: Not set YET but looking to be around $50 or so
When: Yet to be decided but looking to be around late June or July.

Lodging is up to you but the website has a few Hotel/Motels to look at.
I will share with someone to split the cost of a room. Could be an option for you.
I'm trying to create an event that's different than the usual parking lot meets. Let me know what you guys think. I'll take any suggestions and or help I can get. If you know of any Toyota sites i can go to, please let me know.

I posted on a few websites and have recieved a lot of positive feedback.

The sites i posted in were:

www.alltrac.net

www.allgencelica.com

www.toyotanation.com

www.mr2oc.com

www.celicatech.com

www.6gc.net

www.yoursciontc.com

www.teamtoyminator.org

www.i-supra.com

Updates on sites i posted will be put up soon.

Like i said, so far so good on the responses. i just need a few more websites to make this official and start gathering up names.

Sooo, If anybody here can tell me of anymore toyota sites that I can go to, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Bori

Wow... now that sounds very tempting. I would say you should definitely keep us informed.... cause if we can eat, hang out, race and show I know I'd be down.
And I'd make joe and erik come too. :gap:

Bori
01-26-2006, 11:58 AM
Well, I need as much support as possible from everybody. The more people show the better the price and event.

i really want to see something like this come together. I even contacted Toyota about this to see if they would sponsor or be a part of it in anyway.
I'll wait on their response.

Anywho, anything you can offer will be a great help.

Be safe

Sure! If we can convince Erik (Tikked again) and Chris (easyc) to go, that'll be four cars, perfect little group for the trek down south!

about 7hrs from here.. hmm.. maybe. does sound like fun!

Maybe?? C'mon Fabian!!

Man, you're in CT... that means it's only like, 8 hours from you! Good meets are worth a long drive.

Does sound tempting, but damn that is to far of a drive.

Don't worry shawn, we'll meet up with you so you can join our convoy.

We'll just leave mad early the day before, spend the night at a hotel once we get down there, spend the next day at the meet, then depending how we feel leave that night or the next morning. Easy.

Very LAME! I used to drive to Myrtle Beach SC for our National Meet. 150 Ford Probes and Mazda MX-6's. People drove from Ohio, Canada, and even Cali.
15 hours it took us with an RV and trailer with a car.

Worth it times 1000000x , even if not for the cars, but for the parties!

You sure musta been truckin', cuz it's a 17hr drive from the So. Shore. I go every summer to Surfside..... sure beats the water temps up here.

Try Orlando in 25 hrs straight... with an hour stop in Daytona.... or my low level flight to Chicago.... 16 hrs flat.

I used to live in New Jersey when I did that.

I drove to the Pine Key in the Florida Keys. That took us about 27/28 hours from what I remember. Straight through just swapping drivers. We hit a Probe meet up in Miami on the way down.

Regardless... I am hell bent when it comes to owners meets. I love them and they are usually a blast.

I've done that drive many a time, took less than 25 hours though. The quickest was 20 hours I believe. Nonstop, only gas and food, and did both at the same time. Alternate drivers. :)

You whore!!!!

I'm getting married August 26th and yes Joe....she will spend the rest of eternity suffering because of it. The problem isn't really the date it's the obvious spending of 'casholla'. I sneak car parts and other crap into the budget without my emotionally unstable accountant knowing. Going away for a few days would be hard to cover up.

I wonder if I could hire a ninja to pretend to be me for a week or something. I think it would work as long as he did not set himself on fire.

VERY IMPORTANT !!!

Ok guys, I really need to get a list of all that want to attend and all that are maybes for what ever reason.
Like I mentioned before, I am working on setting a price for this and so to do that, I need as many people to show on a list so that i can present it to the staff at Beaverun.

A couple of days ago I counted every person that wanted to attend in every website that i posted and counted 90 people with the exception of the "maybes" . So I know there are people interested. i just need some more details.

For this, I need EVERY person whether it's a definate or maybe to PM me so that I can create a single list. I really want this do be done ASAP. So, as soon as you have the opportunity please PM me as follows:

1. Definately interested:
2. Maybe:
3. Your screen name:
4. What car you drive:
5. Location: (Just to have an idea how far people are traveling)

As soon as I have this info. I will present it and will update all of you on all details. I will also post the list so that everybody can see where we stand with attendees.

THANK YOU GUYS for helping me with this. Now start PM'ing :eatpop:

The date has officially been set for Aug. 12th.

I am working out the final details and will post them shortly.

There will be a pre-registration with discounted fee. Or you can pay full price at the gate.

We can either include camping, or leave it optional in case people would rather be paying for an Inn or hotel/motel.

We can either do a formal , catered dinner after the events. Or do a cook out all day long. I wasn't sure what people would prefer.

So, start giving me your opinions. And we can take this to final pricing and event scheduling level.

I am leaving this camping and dinner up to the participants. Tell me what you want. There is still time to customize this event to our lliking.

key points:

Preregistered gets a discount.
Camping inclusive or seperate?
Formal/semi formal late evening dinner or all day cook out

PS. Sorry for the delay on getting back to you guys. Work has been overwhelming and doesn't give me too much time to get on the forums but i will def. keep you guys updated on all this.

Excellent! :headbang:

Preregistered gets a discount.

Awesome... how much of a discount are we talking?

Camping inclusive or seperate?

Well, for those of us who are driving pretty far I think camping would be a good idea.
I say include it.

Formal/semi formal late evening dinner or all day cook out

All day cook out would preobably be better as I'm sure people will be arriving all day... anyways it'd be pretty tough to get everyone together for a 'formal' dinner. And, when it comes to the food... do we have to bring/cook or do they have people there who will take care of it?

PS. Sorry for the delay on getting back to you guys.

Don't worry about it man, I for one can empathize with you when it comes to the challenges of organizing a meet. We're just glad that you're doing it and doing it right!!

hey all, Im new to the forums and I just today found the north east area! Im a little slow on the comp, but mymcar moves pretty good. Especially on the ice!
Im interested in what it is you guys are upto. Augest 12th, where and can I bring a 1991 GT?

I dont mean to but in, but I am an avid celica fan, and driver of Celicas. Definately, definately interested in driving with the pack. I just need to know what dates, for how long, and what does it cost to get in and where Im going. Could jook up with New Hamp and Mass... Let me know.... :eatpop:

just wanting to make this clear... we would get to take our own car on the race track right?

Hello Everyone,

My name is Chris. I am the one helping Bori organize this meet with BeaveRun. I teach out there and when Bori first posted about interest in a meet; I volunteered BeaveRun as it's a place we can do more than a "parking lot meet".

I'm here today to answer some of the last few questions and comment on a few of the replies. :)

First, in regards to taking your car on the North Track. North Track activity is not inclusive with the cost of registration. The most economic way to get on the North Track would be to come to one of our "Flat Out" days. Info can be found on our website: http://www.beaverun.com/event_flat_out_friday.asp

This meet includes:

~Auto X for all members
~Meet and Greet area
~Formal Evening Dinner on site (unless more people would rather have a all day cook out)

Excellent! :headbang:

Awesome... how much of a discount are we talking?

The final pricing is being determined this week. :)

Well, for those of us who are driving pretty far I think camping would be a good idea.
I say include it.

If we include camping. Than the cost may be a bit higher. For the people that are coming out and staying in a hotel/motel.. this may be counter productive.

All day cook out would preobably be better as I'm sure people will be arriving all day... anyways it'd be pretty tough to get everyone together for a 'formal' dinner. And, when it comes to the food... do we have to bring/cook or do they have people there who will take care of it?

The "formal" dinner would be done on site in our Conference area. So it wouldn't be too difficult to walk or drive up to the building. :) A dinner would give people the opportunity to relax and reflect on the day and converse with their fellow owners.

If there are any more questions or comments, please don't hesitate to post!

I see what you mean.... this might be a better way to go after all. I'm up for either really.
Oh, and the AutoX for all members sounds pretty sweet as well... who would set up the track?

I will be setting up the track personally. I have no objections to any suggestions or changes.

What I can do is set it up and if you guys don't like something (for good reason) we'll change it.

This is our meet. I'm an enthusiast like the rest of you guys. :)

Later,
Chris

man i hope this goes on... its a 9 hour drive for me but i would most likely do it since its worth it, id hall the stock wheels with me so that i dont damage the rays. and i would most likely share the load of driving the 9 hours with my friend who would want to go.

Sweet. But what do you mean about damaging the Rays?

FWIW, my Rays have seen a lot of track time and keep on ticking. :)

ive got 18s with skinny 35 low profile tires, plus i want those tires to last as long as possible cause they were expensive, so im gonna drive to the meet most likely in my car with the nice wheels, then when doin auto x, put my stock 16's on with the 45 yokohama proxes so i dont risk anythin with the nice tires and nice wheels.

the wheels were a big investment for me and i dont wanna risk anything, ill ride on em to the meet to show em, etc. but for auto x, im gonna use my stocks and my toyos that r on those (i said yoko's before by accident). Ive heard from people that auto x wears down on tires. My stock 16's i have winter tires and i have one season used toyo proxes spring/summer tires, and now that i have different wheels/tires, i never use those proxes so i might as well wear them down a lil bit on some auto x

btw whats a chicago box?
and what type of helmet do we need and how much do they run? cause it said no like motorcycle helmets, and i know those r DOT approved, so what type of helmet r they wanting and where do i get it? AND, will my friend/passenger need to have one as well?

Car goes in at the top, out the bottom.... they're fun, unless they're super small, then they're just impossible.

They had a real small chicago box at NHIS once. I had to yank the ebrake just to get through it without shifting down.

If you could try and keep the course more tehcnical and less speed oriented I think it would be more fun.

Really? I don't like the small technical ones nearly as much. That's why I'm really only planning on attending the Devens meets this year... at least you can top out in 2nd on that course! The autoX section at Beaver Run looks big enough that we might be able to have two courses.... one large and fun and the other small and technical. Is this possible Bori?

Just got this psudo-update from Bori via email:

Yeah, sorry I haven't got to anybody on this. The plans are finally coming together. I have been in touch with the people over at beaverun. they have some other events around the same time as our meet and so they are extemely busy and only get back to me every once in a while. I want to make sure that the plans for the meet are solid before I post anything. I don't want to post and then something changes. I will post new changes as soon as they become solid.
thanks for keeping the interest.

At least it's still on...

UPDATE:

Still set for august 12th. Included ............

1. Meet
2. Auto x/ challenge
3. Car show
4. bring your own food/ drinks, etc. (food / drinks will also be served on the complex)
5. rally x

Pricing,
$40 pre-registered, $50 at the gate, camping $10 per night

Karting and parade laps on the north track may be available

Pre-Registration should be sent to:

BeaveRun MotorSports ComPlex
c/o CHRIS HUFF
201 Penndale Rd.
Wampum 16157

Check or Money Order

IMPORTANT

We need as many people to register as soon as possible. The event is soon and if not enough people register then there is still a chance of us loosing our place in August. I would think that if at least 30 people pre-register we can hold our spot.
Thanks again for all the interest and for your patience on all this.

Sorry for the delay on all this. I will try to be more responsive from here on.

Thanks again !

Be Safe
Bori

PS. Don't lose motivation just yet. A lot of people had their name on the list in the begining. We just need those people to step up to the plate and register.

NOTICE:

As per the event director:

Since there was a serious lack of interest; or at least a serious lack of pre-registration.. the meet has changed:

The event will be an all day auto x, but will be open to the public. It is no longer a private Toyota/Lexus/Scion event. There MAY be rally x demos going on as I'll most likely bring the RC out to play.

I felt bad that we were not going to be able to have an exclusive TLS meet. So for those who WERE going to come out.. Your price of admission has now dropped to $35.

You guys can still have a large presence there. It can be 40 toyota, a Saleen mustang and a Miata for all I care at this point.... We had our chance.. not enough people jumped on the oppurtunity.

In the spirit of what could have been. I figured I may as well keep the date open for those that were going to come out. Hence, the reason for dropping the price and opening it to the public.

It's still a challenge day. You just have different challengers now. So come on out as show these guys what a 15 year old Celica can do!

Thanks to everyone that has tried to make this happen.
