what does riding the clutch actually mean? does it mean that your holding down the clutch when your driving?? and what is bad about riding the clutch..

it's when you drive around with you're foot sitting on the clutch.. not pressing hard but like using the pedal as a foot rest type of thing and yea it's bad.

Yeah it's especially bad if you're partially engaging the clutch and revving like a maniac.

Basically what everyone said above is riding the clutch... Makes it wear out quicker, cuz the clutch isn't fully engaged so there can be some slippage which wears out the plate...
