Hey everyone, My car came with a very crapy and old cd player. only thing i like about it is the aux in for mp3 player. the sound compared with my friend's gts ins't so great. Theres not that much bass at all. Does everyone's stock speaker has an average amount of deep bass like a little sub? My friend's car has stock radio and i dont know if stock speakers, but they had deep bass. I was wonderin if this was stock. If so i'd change just my cd player. If not i'd plan to change all the speakers

I went from stock deck to the alpine cda-9855 and did notice the sound quality improve and along with the bass. Although while it tries the play the really low bass notes, being stock speakers running off the decks power, if you turn up the volume high enough they will distort and sound like trash easily. if you dont' want to spend alot of money on a system, just get a decent alpine deck, replace your front speakers, and just power them w/ a 2 channel amp.

Gt-s stereos come with an amp and 2 more speakers than the gt. that could contribute to his better sound quality. I bought my car used and the speakers sound amazing. i dont know for sure but im 99% positive my speakers are aftermarket. Ill have to check one day.

if you dont want to buy a new deck, or if you do and it still sounds bad, you may want to check wiring on the head unit and ground wiring. errors in wiring can make good head units and/or good speakers sound like crap....
