i bought my gt-s yesterday at longo toyota in california. im breaking in my engine right now and i've accidently went over 4k. it says in the owners manual that you should keep the revs under 4k. i've wentt up to 5k a couple of times.. is that ok?? is it ok if you hit lift during your break in period?

you're car will be fine. went i had 600miles on my celica. i was coming outta work, didnt see another car, heading for me, and i hit the gas pretty hard, didnt go past 6000rpm, but just under it, car didnt seem to mind eheheh. just change your oil at 1000miles and you will be good to go.
Try not to hit lift during break-in period. BTW congratulations on your new car.

try between 3-4k rpms
Try not to switch gears at higher rpms during break-in period.
Your car is gonna blow up.
Run while you still can!

Varying the revs on the car is good during break in. I'm not sayin redlining is okay. Just vary it from 3-4k. I would wait a little longer than 1000 miles to change the oil.

like everyone's been saying, doing it a few times shouldn't be too bad, i just wouldn't go crazy with it until after the break in period. and yea, i think changing the oil at 1000 miles might be a bit too early.
