Rays Lugs

Does anybody use rays lugs with their gts wheels? or are they only ok to use with aftermarket rims? the reason i ask is because when i got new tires they said that the lugs don't catch enough threads, the guy said that he was surprised my wheels didn't fall off, so yeah.....any help?
