has anyone done this at all. if so please inform me. Been wanting to purchase a kit that is pre painted and want to do the installation myself.

What kits come prepainted?

WW has a painted option but thats just a skirt... No will want to paint a kit and ship it to you and if they do I dont think you will be happy with what you are paying for... Just think of it this way... Painted - will the color match? Will the damn thing fit right? And hope to god that it doesnt get damaged during shipping... Even If you decide to pick it up at the store there is still no guarantee that the paint will match of the fitment would be perfect... Well anyway does that help...
