Installed and Mounted the S-AFC

Did some work last night and mounted the S-AFC in the compartment above the radio. I have to redo the molding around it, but I had to put something there in the meantime. I'll probably fix it after work today and I'll post the finished pix in the Performance Mods Forum. Check out some of these pix.

This is the hole that the dremmel made after cutting... (check out the mess!

Here's a nice wide shot of the mess.... Oddly enough the bit used by the dremmel melted the plastic too!

Here it is fitted into the hole without molding. There's still enough room behind S-AFC console to put my sunglasses!!

... And this is a shot I took this morning on my way to work. Notice the molding's not quite right, but I have extra and I'll post final finished pix of it when I get it done.

In the meantime I figured I'd show you guys the work that's been done. All in all we were very happy with the finished product.

how heavy is the door now???

good job... you should try painting the door to match the color of the molding around the SAFC to make is a bit smoother to look at... IMO...

Well, the door doesn't pop up when you press the release latch, but it closes well enough. I'm not really sure what it'll look like, but I'm hoping once I redo the molding, it'll look a lot cleaner. We'll see what happens.... I'll keep you guys updated.

NICE, to rich for my blood right now... Just blew my play money on the TWM shorty. Well I will try not to copy you. I'm thinking of installing it in the center console. I don't like to show off too much stuff. I like to keep it looking clean. I would put it up there and just hide it behind the door but that gets really hot up there and I don't like ripping apart dashes. I'm good with wiring sooo... but no money yet.. Just tring to put it some place that no one has got it.
