I'm currently looking into which SUV will be the next family car. Right now we have a Jeep Liberty and it's the SUCK. Worst car by far we have even owned. Anyways we are trying to stay away from anything american since the quality has really gone down hill as of late. Add some input by personal experience or just by what you like. Here are my personal choices:
Lexus GX

Lexus RX 330

Acura MDX

BMW X3 3.0i

BMW X5 3.0i or maybe 4.4i

These are my initial choices. I also like the Land Rover but the fact that Ford now owns them kinda turns me off. Also maybe the new Nissan Pathfinder. The one thing is we don't need a HUGE SUV. The most passangers we need to get around max is 5 people. If i had to put them in order it would go, 1. X5 2. GX 3. X3 4. MDX 5. RX 6. Pathfinder

I never understood why people think they need a friggin SUV to carry 5 people...
aren't there enough of those god-forsaken things on the road already?
...but if I had to get one I'd get the Infinity fx45.

Out of all those listed, I would go with the RX330.

Cayenne Turbo S or nothing!
Out of the ones you posted I'd go with either the GX or RX.. The GX is more truck like if that's what you're after.

The family business has been really good lately which is the reason in the large price range.

Well if this was soley my choice it would be a nice car. But the other decision makers like the abilities of an SUV in the cargo carrying area.
Out of all those listed, I would go with the RX330.
I've heard bad things about the ride quality from friends that have them. I myself have never actually driven one, so a testdrive will be needed.

LOL. Business hasn't been that good yet. Maybe next time around. The "truck feel" is not minded and the GX is obviously the largest choice. I just like how good it looks, and doesn't seem as big as it really is.

Neither the 4Runner nor Highlander even made the list? We love our 4Runner and would consider another Toyota if we were in the market. I know the Lexus is very similar, but I don't see it's worth the extra cash.

I totally forgot about both of those cars. Add those in there. My parents actually just purchased a Tacoma and I'm afraid the ride and interior will be too similar. All of our cars are free game to be driven by anyone and I don't want to feel like I'm in the same car with a different exterior. I also drove my Aunt's 04 Highlander and wasn't too impressed. I'm assuming some changes have been made since that model year.

i like the nissan murano
:werd:...I work at a tint shop and we've had a few come in. Good price and I love the styling. We also had the Lexus GX SUV come through, and the interior has great styling as well as good looks. so #1 Nissan Murano #2 Lexus GX, if your gonna throw down that kinda cash.

I guess it all comes down to what all are you going to use it for and how much room you need. Don't forget the prices in gas each one will cost you and also, if you save some money you can mod the celica ;) Honestly, I would find one that fits the budget well enough so I can have some money to spare on anything else. I know once I graduate college and get an apartment on my own, i'd stop modding my car and start "modding" my place lol.

:werd: You don't need an SUV for that. Or just get a friggin min-van, it's the same thing, but more aero-dynamic.
FX
its built on the 350Z platform and has ATTESSA ET-S AWD from the Skyline (with RWD bias)
you can either get the Z's V6, or the bad boy 4.5L V8

agreed...the FX35 or 45 are both awesome choices. The 45 has the most power I have felt in an SUV. Very nice.
