I did a search and didn't really find what I wanted to know. Anyways what are some of the major difference between the SS, SS-P and Basic coilovers?

I know the SS-P's let you hook up the EDFC inside the car. Is that the only difference between those 2? As for the Basic's, are they any good?

I'm interested in buying a set but I'm kinda worried that it would be a little overkill for my set-up and what I use them for. I have never been to a track yet, which I wanna make a trip at some point and do some laps for fun. Basically just daily driving and such. Or would I be better off just getting a set of KYB's to go with my S-Tech springs, and add the sway bars and other components to tighten the ride up?

Thanks, Garrett

:stupid:

ss-p = height and dampening adjustable and has pillowball upper mounts. Same as ss put includes the upper pillowball mounts.

Could have gotten all of this from here

The SS-Ps also have higher spring rates

For the kind of use you are doing I suggest that you put the springs (I think you already have them) with a set of KYB ajustable (or anything else with dampning ajustability) with a set of swaybars.

I want to do the same as you, daily driving, having fun in curves and lap session for fun a few times per year. I have the TRD springs and shocks and I regret that I didn't go with the KYB mention above. I just think it would be nice to ajust it to soft for daily use and hard for track use (or if I plan of having fun in the exits). I will wait until the shocks are dead before changing them but I plan of buying the Hotckiss Comp sway this summer!

Hope I helped!:D

SirCharlesC7, you definatly helped. I want exactly what you want. I just thought $1,200 for coilovers was overkill for the application I wanted to use them for. And I in no way need extra points for a car show since I'm not going anywhere near that route.

So some KYB shocks and some sways and I'm set. Thanks!

Glad to see you learned from my mistake (TRD strut)

Coilovers are good for a race car or a show car. Daily drivers, not the best. It all depends on what you want to do with your car and what kind of scrifice you want to do!

hey will the Kyb adjustable shocks work with the Eibach Sportlines? I have read in the past that sportlines has a greater drop than 1.7 inches and so its not suitable with the KYB's. Can someone confirm this otherwise i was on the route considering the Tein SS-p.

Koni's would be better then the KYB's.

Are the Koni's adjustable? Do i need to make more mods to make it fit the celica? Some guy told me i would have to cut the macpherson strut to fit.

Yes, they are adjustable and have a much greater range of adjustability then the KYB's.

Yes, you will need to cut your stock struts to make these fit in the front (Not that hard to do if you have a hack saw or even better a pipe cutter.....rear is straight up replacement.

Koni Yellows.

You will not be sorry. The AGX's seem to go from realy soft to very stiff with not much room in the middle. Koni's have a much broader range of adjustment in the middle.

I was looking at konis website and it states 35 mm lowering.. right now i cant afford to be any lower.. is there anyway to avoid this lowering? what adjustable shocks are available that wont lower the car

Oh and what websites sell them?
