Holy Moly.
What an F'ing difference!!! Apparently, I've had this MAF sensor problem since I got to Tacoma and had the accident. To be honest, I haven't taken my car out driven it the way I "should" since I had the new TRD clutch installed.
In other words, I took it to a back alley, and for the first time in like a year, I launched the crap outta that thing.
OMFG. I spun all the way to redline!!! With NO hopping, nothing...just straight up POWER (of course, it probably would have been a slow run due to the spinning, but damn).
I shifted at 8,300 and I had enough momentum going by that time that I stayed on the second cam for the 1-2 shift easily and pretty much shut it down once I hit 80 (small back alley).
Jeez, the weather has been so bad here, and my car has been so royally screwed up that I just haven't done it in awhile.
I launched at 4,500 and never dipped below it...just kept going till it grabbed enough at 6,500 to take off.
Titus-Will Toyota is the SHIZNIT!
They did SOMETHING to my clutch, and now it has about a little more half a foot worth of clutch travel. It's like a big ol' button now. Just press and shift. They also did something to my shifter cuz it's not notchy at all anymore, just straight, crisp, and feels like butter! And they definetly must have adjusted the throttle response too. What a difference. (when I say something, yes I know what they did, I'm just wowed by it)
They also removed my exhaust, cleaned it all out of the shavings that had been left there by the EGT install (some metal broke loose from the welding).
They did all that on the 30,000 mile job, which I've never had any dealership go to that length to make my car run so smoothly.
Woot! My car is SO READY for that N20 now.
And to think, I've been driving a WRX all day, and the Celica STILL gives me this feeling.
Cool...
