Have any of you, when you installed your aftermarket gauge overlays, taken off the stock one first?

It's stuck onto the cluster with some sort of adhesive. I was thinking of ripping it off, but do not want to damage anything.

And another question - if I left it on, it has those green turnsignals. I replaced the LED's with blue ones. Will the blue LED light shine thorugh the green turnsignal face and make the colour look screwed up? Blue is after green in the colour spectrum, so I figured the green may alter the blue colour.

Thanks,
aerospike

You don't need any heat gun to remove the stock gauge face...
Just pull it gently and it will start to peel off..
One thing that to be careful about is that... there is little clear plastic hook right at the center hole where the needle base is at..
There is two area where the adhesive is at.... next to two big hole...
Peel off fromt left side first... then unhook.. and work on the middle... and unhook..
Then it comes right off...

For the LED bulb...
Using stock gauge with red LED bulb and blue LED bulb....

Thanks Sean, that answered my questions.

Blue is closer to green color... so they are much brighter then red...

no problem... it's just prevent the gauge face near that area from lifting, just incase if there is any warpage on the gauge face...
It's there so that it's flushed to the surface.....
Stock gauge face and my gauge is pretty stiff so there is no problem with warping...
When you install the needle, just make sure it doesn't touch the gauge face....
That's all...
